I’ve been to parties, and bars and I just don’t do it. I feel like something in me is changing for the good so I’m going to go back and read my recovery and grief books. You're not born with the right amount of melanin in your body to pigment things the way they're supposed to be. Newborns have lighter hair, skin, and eyes that will darken over time as their body begins producing melanin.

@@plants128 A literal newborn that just came out will always be lighter than they will be as they get older due to low melanin. They develop melanin as they age. Some babies that look dark straight out of the womb will look much darker as they get older if they already have that much melanin at birth. Rue is mixed and has a white dad, and the baby was a newborn rue hence why she looked white. You can't say "that's not true" because it's literally science. It's scientifically proven that babies look paler st birth.
