The hard times are what make people grow
@rene37595 жыл бұрын
@@kippykimber3170 you don't need hard times to grow. That's just what a people say to make themselves feel better. You don't need trauma to grow. Challenges can make you grow if you have the right approach and a support system. But challenges and trauma are to very different things because at the end even if you learn to cope with it trauma sticks with you. Not everyone grows out of trauma some people don't even survive it. Saying that trauma makes you grow as compared to growing up, is like saying wounds make you grow but what happens is you can call yourself lucky if you have the resources to address those wounds and if those wounds aren't fatal but you still get scars and a part of you has been permanently damaged. People grow irregardless it's about having good support systems and the right resources and mental space.
@kippykimber31705 жыл бұрын
@@rene3759 I simply said "hard times make people grow" I in no way insinuated that trauma is the best way to grow or the only way to grow. Not sure why something in you interpreted it that way. However life's hardships and pain can be an incredible teacher. Obviously you can grow without going through sucky things we're growing all the time. When I was younger I was a decent person but also quite closed minded, a bit judge mental and closed off. Going through things and facing them allowed me to learn so much about myself and transform entirely. I am now more confident, understanding and just more capable entirely. Growing through hard times showed me things K never would have understood by just existing. Sometimes people dont need that transformation, sometimes they are fine in their lifes just so. But it would be blind to say that hard times and challenges do not implimen6some type of growth. Not all lifes lessons are easy. Now hard times and "trauma" are two different stories.

I'm glad the comments are warning anyone young or suffering with mental disorders about this show. Don't get me wrong, I love it. As someone who does have depression and anxiety (and not the "quirky" kind), it's certainly hard to watch this show. It would leave me feeling pretty bad after watching it. However, it's really amazing at showing these issues. So many other dark "teen dramas" come off as very preachy. This show on the other hand, doesn't. It shows it in a way without telling you what you should think. Even though the abuse that Maddy suffers is very obviously not okay, it really lets you make up your own mind about the things happening in the show and the people. At the end of the day, they all do fucked up things and all have issues of their own. Even Nate, who is clearly affected by the things he grew up seeing and his sexuality that he can't come to terms with. They don't make excuses for them either, which is great.

This teen drama series is just so worth it to watch because it shows how relevant what the teen agers are going through nowadays. This is a must watch cause it contains serious topic like depression, drug addiction, violence, mature and graphic scenes that they should not be experiencing at their age. This taught me to not judge those teens who have experienced and experiencing a bad life just because of their impulsive decisions. As I was watching this, I realized that as a teenager, I should be aware of my environment with what is going on around me and should not trust people easily to be able to avoid making a bad decision that I will probably regret for the rest of my life.

And when you’re in a relationship you’re not supposed to be the medicine of someone it only drags you down you just help them in the process of being able to recover by yourself. But you shouldn’t be in any way forced to stay w/ someone for this reason everybody must remain free bcs being in a relationship is a choice. Plus it’s also toxic for the person bcs it puts so much pressure on him/her/they and it’s not on what a healthy relationship is supposed to be.

This show is incredible don’t get me wrong, but I really hope they add a male character in season 2 cause it seems like the girls are the only ones who go through serious things. I’m not counting Fez cause he’s not exactly one of the “main” if you know what I mean. But he and Nate are pretty much the only guys who struggle with their own problems. With that being said, I have mentioned in the past I felt like McKay’s backstory could’ve better but maybe it’s good that’s it’s a lot simpler than everybody else’s cause while it’s not as “complex” it’s still a pretty personal problem.

Maddie my relationship got so toxic it was so unbearable but you know you can’t leave because of the love you hold for the other person.
