Great videos! I currently own a North Face Wawona 6, I happened to see it pop up in your video here. Are you going to review it as well? My first trip out with it was in some rain and wind, it held up great. I hated to see that about the Core tents you reviewed, I am looking for an 8 person tent to fit us better, I like the Wawona and they have an 8 person version, it's just expensive and it's missing some roof vents in my opinion.

Hi Chris! Thanks so much for your comment and for sharing too! 😊 And yes! I'm gonna release the Wawona videos probably early next month? Right now I'm trying to push out the REI Base Camp and Wonderland, before I get to the Wawona. And that was my experience too with the rain and wind, it held up awesome over multiple days of super heavy rain 😊 And yeah, Coleman and Core are about the same IMO, waterproofing isn't the best, though I didn't expect it to be. I think the Wawona 8 would be a great pick! So far, it's one of the best tents that I've ever used, and I really love it 😊 Although you're right here too about the roof vents. I didn't find rainy day ventilation to be superb either, but I thought the balance between ventilation and rain protection was one of the best when it came to the Wawona 😊 I hope this helps Chris! Thank you again for sharing, I really appreciate it!

Have you come across any cabin tent with zippered(closable) ceiling mesh? I only found one by Browning.
@CampingGuidance
@CampingGuidance Жыл бұрын
Hi Paul! Thanks for the question 😊 And unfortunately I haven't come across any cabin tent with zippered ceiling mesh. I think most of these cabin tents tend to be made for use mainly in summer, so the brands probably didn't see a need to provide zippers. I have 2 more cabin tents that I've bought but have not yet reviewed, hopefully I'll find one with zippered mesh 😊

I'm gonna buy the Teton 2p pop up tent from ur video! Would u be able to review the best camping/portable showers?
@CampingGuidance
@CampingGuidance Жыл бұрын
Hey Antonius! Wow that would really mean a lot and would definitely help support this channel 😊 Thank you so much! And yes camping showers are on my list but because I'm working on this channel by myself, it's taking quite some time to review many things at once. Hopefully sometime in the future though! 😊

I guess mine is older. Your carry bag comes with two zippers. Mine only has one. But i do like my tent. I can put two queen size air mattresses in it. Do i need to pick you up? So, you can touch the top of the tent. 🤣🤣🤔🤔🥰

Thanks for another lovely comment Anthony! It means a lot to me and helps the channel out 🥰🙏🏻 oh I see! I didn’t have the older version. Great to know though! Hopefully your carry bag is still really user friendly? Hahahaha yes I would definitely be able to touch the top of the tent that way 🤣🤣🤣 love how tall it is though!!

@@CampingGuidance also, if I take my time. It will take thirty minutes to set up. I just roll it up as tight as I can and stuff it in the bag.

Wow! I loved your detailed review. This is the first of your reviews that I have watched. I will be checking out some other of your reviews. There is one thing that I wanted to ask about regarding this review of the LX6. I am very interested in this tent but one very large negative is keeping me from making the purchase - the windows. I noticed in your review that at the bottom of the windows are some openings. I presume they are there to allow any water that might enter the tent at the window to drain out of the tent. Can insects enter the tent through these openings? There does not appear to be any mesh covering the openings. The brief look at them that I got in your video showed a completely open "hole" for the water to drain out. The only reason I even thought about insects is because of a written review of this very issue on Amazon. That buyer had a large spider enter his tent through one of these openings. You didn't address this issue in your review. Would you please give me your opinion as to how serious you think this problem might be? Thanks

Hey Lee! Thank you so much for your comment and feedback, I’m really glad that you liked the review! 😊 and thanks for bringing the openings of the windows to my attention! I noticed them but I had no idea what they were for 😅 you’re right - I think it’s to allow water to drain out. I didn’t have any insects come in through the openings at all too, so I didn’t think there would be any negatives with this 😅 but what you pointed out definitely makes sense. There are NO mesh coverings over these openings and I can stick my entire finger through the hole 😅 if you have issues with insects around where you live, then I suggest not getting this tent. I don’t have huge insects where I am (thankfully no huge spiders omg!!) so it was ok for me. I hope this helps! 😊

I was wondering what you think of using a tent like this copper canyon as kind of like a kitchen tent or bug free space instead of buying a screen shelter which often don’t do well in rain and if they do are quite expensive to add side panels. I’m asking because you seem to know a lotaboutcamping equipment and your reviews are excellent. I am sure I could put a couple of chairs and a small camping table in this tent to use if the bugs or weather got to bad instead of trying to get comfortable and jam stuff into our sleeping tent. Thanks and if you don’t respond I understand as it is an odd question. P.S. anyone else who has ideas on this feel free to reply.😊

Hi Patrick! No worries, feel free to ask me any questions that come to mind, and I'll do my best to help! And no question is an odd question, so please don't worry 😊 And yes of course you can use it as like a bug-free space, I don't see why not 😊 You're right, at least this tent will do little better in rain than regular screen shelters. And if you take the rainfly off when it's not raining, plus open all the windows, there's quite a bit of ventilation going on 😊 But maybe before you put the chairs and table inside this tent, you might want to buy like any old regular tarp and use it to line the flooring. The flooring of this tent isn't the thickest, so I think it's best to protect it as much as possible. The legs of your chairs/table can puncture the flooring. I never thought to use this as a bug free space outside of my sleeping tent, and I'd love to hear yours and others' input on this too! 😊
@Patrick-uf1cq
@Patrick-uf1cq Жыл бұрын
Yes I would place either a carpet ( cheap of course) or maybe those interlocking foam squares they use on floors which are sometimes on sale. Also if something happened to your sleeping tent you could have this as a backup. Also it would last a long time as I would only go in it if needed as I would prefer to eat and sit outside except of course when it is miserable ( bugs or rain). Thank you for the response.

@@Patrick-uf1cq No problem Patrick! I'm happy to help you anytime 😊 Ooh the interlocking foam squares sound like a great idea! That'll definitely protect the base well 😊 I hope you enjoy eating/chilling in the Eureka! Let me know how it goes if you have the time 😊

@@Patrick-uf1cqI have a slightly older version of this tent that is identical except for the rain fly. We have some of those foam floor squares you are talking about, which we use for added comfort and insulation. Sixteen 24” squares is enough to fill most of the floor (8’x8’) with a little space around the edges to keep us and our gear away from the tent walls.

Hi Patty, I think I mentioned the window dimensions somewhere in the pros and cons section if you wanna take a look 😊 But basically my measurements came down to 51 x 29 inches for the regular windows and 42 x 30 inches for the door window. Hope this helps! 😊
