Eureka Springs // Tour of Downtown Eureka Springs/ Rock Collecting Continues

Join us on the continuation of our fourth day as we travel to Eureka Springs. We did a driving tour of downtown. We would have loved to have had more time there, but we didn't. We hope to go back one day and spend more time!

Really enjoyed your video. In 1968/1973 I was on the police department in Eureka and walked Spring Street hundreds of times (Writing parking tickets on the meters) It was a pleasure to ride the roads with you that I served for those years. Would love to have seen East Mountain, The Crescent Hotel and tour the homes where I lived. Was in the Passion Play cast back then, and hope you do get back to see it. Very worthwhile! Home of many of the finest people I ever met. Many memories. Thanks! Now I'm going to have to visit again!

You haven’t seen anything yet. There are Lakes 300+ feet deep, the beautiful Buffalo River, pristine with huge cliffs, the White River, legal swimming holes, mountains, mountain towns, mountain drives, and if you like folk/bluegrass/country blues music there is Mountain View, Arkansas. Surrounded by mountains. I’m moving there.

It is a beautiful area to drive. You could walk for days shopping there. I have family around there and Hot Springs. Hope you enjoy all the sites.

Boy those houses are close to the street on the lower level and some on the upper level. I would be afraid of someone driving into my house.:) It is a very quaint area. That library is awesome. I would like to take the tour to hear more about it. Some of the houses remind me of Old Decatur. The Rock Hound was busy again!lol Looking forward to seeing Hot Springs.

No! The Passion Play was closed and we forgot to ride back by to see if we could get in. There will have to be another trip there in the future! I want to see the Passion Play!

Girl I was hurting to potty on the side of the road! We never did see a bathroom and you are so right! I felt so much better! LOL! We had packed a cooler with water and I had been drinking way too much! And we definitely want to go back and explore. We just had too many places we wanted to see!

Love being along on your trip!! I have picked up rocks since I was a teenager, but not quite that big. The trees in Tulsa and Broken Arrow, OK are absolutely beautiful this year. Such a gift!

I kept looking at those houses and buildings couldn't believe how close to the road they were, some of them right on the line of the road. What a beautiful drive. I was like your husband , when my husband, son and I were coming home from California to Florida and I kept picking up rocks of course not as big as your husband LOL. My husband finally says you need to taper down on how many rocks you're picking up or will never get home between the weight and the price of gas.😁 I did that in the 80s and that brought back good memories even my son was helping me pick out some pretty rocks. Really enjoy your Road trips💝. You two are so cute together💕 💕💕💕💕

Hi Suzanne, We went to Eureka Springs last month. Loved it. We stayed at the Crescent Hotel Cottages. John is just like my husband with his rocks. My husband bought several rocks in Eureka Springs on our trip. The shops on the main downtown had lots of rock shops. Glad you are both enjoying your trip.

I wish we had more time there. We were conflicted between Eureka Springs and Hot Springs. We really needed one more day. I've heard the Crescent is really beautiful. We are going back to Branson and will probably stay overnight the next time in Eureka. Thanks for the info!

Guess what? Done the rock thing. We picked up a whole bunch out in the desert because they were a different color. Then we were traveling late at night in the hills of Kentucky and nothing, I mean NOTHING was open and I had to improvise for a bathroom pretty much just like you just did. Hee! Hee! So glad people are just people. LOL

Also people buy groceries and gas in Berryville at the Walmart there. There's a local grocery in Holiday Island and one in Eureka Springs. Plus farmers markets. Or you can drive in to Bentonville about an hour and a half away to stock up at places like Aldi, Walmart, or Target.

You just don't see those places when you just go down one particular road. I knew there had to be shopping somewhere!

No place for big business in Eureka. It's better that way. Berryville isnt far if you need a walmart and Amazon delivers everywhere.

Not sure if you ever looked up the history but its actually super super dark and sad and filled with death despite their efforts to make it into THE hot tourist spot back in the Victorian era

@@SuzanneLight it is definitely worth going back the trolleys to through all the history and they have several ghost tours that really go into the more dark part of the history most dont talk about. Not to mention tje geology aspect of it is wild! There is a quartz crysyal bigger than a school bus in the mountain, underneath downtown.

Cute town but looks run down in areas. Don't go to the Cressant Hotel, it's been fixed up but not renovated and it smells musty. A RIP-off for the haunting history. Also don't bother getting a reading at Mystic Moon. She didn't tell me much of anything. It was SO Hot I could barely stand it and she had a very strong Vanilla scent to cover the musty smell. It made me nauseous. Sorry for the negativity :(
