LOVED the 'tail checks' for the parked planes. Never seen anyone do it before. I always find an airport to be a place of adventure and it fed that sense. Thank you.

Great report. Enjoyed the variety of liveries at LHR. Would have been nice for Austrian to included more leg room in addition to the food, given it is business class. How was the meat ball pie? Looking forward to your next upload!

LHR always has a plethora of airlines and tails. Airlines from all over the world that would be unlikely to meet anywhere else. LHR has always been a major connecting hub (let alone serving a major city as London) yet from a passenger perspective, it isn't the smoothest place to connect at particularly between terminals and ques are long. The meat pie was much better than it looked. Like TK, OS contracts Do & Co for catering which I feel is better than others. Still, it left much to be desired. Next upload is due soon :)

Recently I had a connecting flight from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3 at LHR and I used inter terminal bus service which was airside. This was very convenient and time saving. Plus you get a tour from T5 to T3. However, connecting landside between terminals can give you a headache.

I wonder how all those longhaul and the many more shorthauls fits into Heathrows day before curfew?? this isn t Dubai no 24hr operations which would have been economic?

It is mind boggling. Slots are heathrow are prized positions for airlines and they do alot to ensure not being delayed when it comes to legacy routes like LHR. Now with T1 being closed we shall see how they upgrade it and how it will serve.

Actually Heathrow in my opinion is a premium long haul-airport and short haul with passengers corresponding/in transfer with long haul..a lot of the short haul end to end could in my opinion go to other London airports like Gatwick,Luton,Stanstead...these shorthaulers with their frequency take up many slots at Heathrow and as Heathrow isn t a 24hr airport the day becomes cramped...before the curfew??

I really don't see any point of flying business class on most of european airlines, if I want better food I preorder for 10 - 20 Euros and for more space I book exit row for 50 - 100 Euros, still paying way less than for this small economy. I understand that it's easy to converted to all economy, but all those flights always have business so they don't use this option, I'm glad that Air Serbia and Turkish Airlines are still keeping proper business class in Europe. I really like Austrian, but wouldn't fly their Europe business class.

just to add info on heathrow every airline in the world is trying get a base there continental air paid $209 for 4 slots,oman air paid $75 for 1 slot in the morning.8.30 slot,yes heathrow is a mess 5 T ,two in diffrent places,but every man a dog want to be there,most people like me who live 1 hrs from london go to gatwick or luton as it cheaper and most go to european countrys .

this "Business class" is a racket that the airline brings back and forth according to how many bookings there is in Business class low bookings the raft goes forward, same seat becomes economy and vice versa..hope you had something to eat in the Lounge

I did have a quick bite at the lounge, which was better than my last LH lounge meal in FRA a few years ago. The Buryani and Raita were good I have to say, yet LH can do much better.

Yaak what catering..probably brought from Vienna..notice that the male airhost had a broom..teh flight was late and the crew had to assist in cleaning the plane..turnaround is an expensive business

The catering was better than it looked yet a lot left to be desired. I am almost sure it was loaded from VIE since it was from the caterer Co & Do which OS works with. This company (which is also the TK caterer) has better meals than other famous caterers in my opinion. Yes, I agree with you regarding cleaning and turning the plane around.

Well documented flight sir. It's a shame that this eurobusiness class is accepted among European carriers as the norm these days. No doubt the gulf carriers and select Asian carriers are doing a far better job with their respective BUSINESS class cabins in narrowbody aircraft. I guess when people are already used to crap with a blocked middle seat and HORRIBLE seat pitch, they won't be disappointed when it's the same thing every time with these euro carriers. Hell, even American carriers are known to have dedicated business class on most domestic narrowbody a/c. It begs the question as to why did the euro carriers ever think it was acceptable to sell this as their intra European business class product... cost cutting at its finest. Peasants.

It is indeed so unfortunate. Inter European flights can be 3+ hours long and yet you get such a seat. If I recall correctly, I flew LH euro-business a few years ago and although it was the same style the pitch was better (same as in TK 738). It's so obvious that OS like other carriers in Europe are keeping this so they can have the flexibility to simple convert a loaded flight into an all Y class service.
