For those who say Hyundai skimped the quality in India and have better build in EU should also note that it starts at €10,990 which is close to 10 lakh indian rupees whereas the top specced(priciest) version of indian spec i10 is 8.35L which is the asta diesel (i am not talking about the on-road prices here). For the price of euro spec i10, we are getting much better cars which has better safety ratings in India

As a tiago owner from last 4 and half years I want to say that Maruti and Hyundai agents made so much negative marketing for new Tata cars. All negative they count on new Tata cars against Maruti and Hyundai cars like nvh levels of tiago against nios is like no importance for more than 95% buyers, even most of the buyers can't notice but they highlight them as a very important point where as positives are massive in new models of Tata cars like safety,comfort,Handaling,road stability etc but they put them like average. This is the reality and magic of marketing other wise like if tiago from Hyundai or maruti it would have captured 80% of hatchback market till today. Same story in all segments.

In euro ncap they take top variant and crash test it on 50 km/h but in global ncap they take base variant and crash test it on 64 km/h. That's why this car scored 3 star in euro ncap and 2 star in global ncap.

It’s more to do with the test being so much stricter these days. Back in 2018 this would have been a 5 star car all day long. It’s now impossible for a city car to be a 5 star in 2021 as the amount of passive and active safety systems needed would price it out of the market.

It's a new model. Unfortunately it's not as good as the last generation. Still a pretty good car, but the old i10 was a massive improvement from the previous model and did much better in its crash tests.

@@mach1nefan Maybe it's all the ever changing and demanding specs the EU demand. I have the four speed auto that costs a packet to tax yet drives great. Now you get the five speed AMT that gjves better economy, but drives like a kangaroo according to the motoring press. Sometimes though the manufacturers keep doing stupid facelifts that spoil the model.

Funny how the Aygo, Up, C1, 108 get 3 stars even though are smaller. But in actuality are safer because they lose points due to missing active safety equipment, although that's because are small econobox city cars the structure remains intact. The latest i10 is lacking in safety, my guess is Hyundai thought to bring the one sold in India or something to save costs.

Never compare stars from different testing methodologies. AEB is not the only thing that was added to the tests and this Hyundai if tested in 2014 would likely get 5 stars.

The Indian model has DISGRACEFULLY been watered down by Hyundai so it's cheaper. This means that they cut down on safety by a lot. Global NCAP isn't as strict as it tests for developing countries - but other cheaper cars have still done better. This isn't just Hyundai either, a shocking amount of companies will literally *kill* their customers for some extra cash.

This car is crashed at 50km/hr with 50km/hr dummy, = 100km/hr total speed and achieved good rating. But if this would be of Indian unit then it gets 2 stars at 64km/hr crash. 🇮🇳 So think abiut what these brands are making big fools of Indians. 🇮🇳 And hats off to BJP govt. 🙏 🇮🇳
