Euro NCAP Crash Test of Alfa Romeo Giulia 2016

Euro NCAP Frontal Impact takes place at 64 Km/h, 40% of the width of the car striking a deformable barrier. In the Full Width test, 100% of the width of the car the car impact a rigid barrier at 50 Km/h. In the side impact, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door at 50 km/h. In the pole test, the car tested is propelled sideways at 32 km/h into a rigid pole.

Alfas Giulietta had 97% back in 2010 already ;) However the Volvo V40 scored 98% in 2012. Nevertheless, these are the safest cars in terms of occupant safety so far!

Together with the 2012 Volvo V40, yes! :) The Alfa Giulietta scored 97% in 2010 already (which was the safest compact class car back then, before the V40 came), so this comes as no surprise. Well done to Alfa.

I actually never had to complain about Fiat Group cars' safety measures. My family owned several of them, all of them been hit hard but with the occupants never hurt (luckily). True fact: my dad was driving his Fiat Grande Punto - 2015 - on a highway at 120 kph, when a moron suddenly hit him on the back (story is this guy was a taxi driver in a hurry and too focused not to miss the almost-forgot highway exit). Dad's Punto spinned lots of times and eventually stopped against a guardrail. Car got wrecked, but my father is 73 and got immediately out of the car without a scratch, ready to discuss about insurance...

Well done, Alfa Romeo! I am wondering how this car would perform in a small overlap crash test. This kind of crash is not a common issue in Europe but everything can happen out there, if a car is able to properly withstand even this kind of crash it is obvious that it is safer than other vehicles. From my point of view, Volvo is still the safest car manufacturer. I believe that the new S90 or even the recently retired S80 are much safer than this Alfa because they are designed to cope with much tougher situations than this standard but common scenario. The laboratory statistics may be in favor of Alfa but Volvo's intense real-word research and crash testing are much more relevant, (atleast) for me. But anyways, congratulations for Alfa Romeo's team, what an impressive comeback!

why not?it immitates near avoided crash where barrier is in the far off side, where energy of the impact is not absorbed by the engine or crumple zones, so it goes straight to the passenger space. it is very dangerous. look it up.

Sara' anche sicura come tante altre berline,ma sentite questa fonte Club Alfa...... Buonasera! la mia Giulia l'ho ritirata l'8 agosto ed ha già passato 19 giorni in officina per : -malfunzionento indicatore manutenzione. -sostituzione fanali posteriori per condensa. -sostituzione fodere di pelle sedili per formazione di bolle. -malfunzionamento trip computer -malfunzionamento sensore pressione pneumatici -non funzionava la bussola. -quadro strumenti acceso come un albero di natale per carica bassa batteria. -errata installazione morsetti batteria. Ora voglio riportarla in officina per: -sostituire tutti i sedili perchè la pelle si è staccata nuovamente dopo soli 1300 km. -la pelle dei sedili posteriori si è staccata dopo che un passeggero è stato seduto per soli 280km! -i trip computer si azzerano nuovamente da soli dopo circa 500 km -i freni fischiano -a volte appare l'errore fcw non attivo -a volte con temperatura sotto zero l'indicazione strada gelata non appare -questa sera mi si è accesa l'indicazione livello olio alto sul display centrale mentre sul 6.5'' dava olio al minimo. -un cavo della batteria è montato male e sfrega sul pannello creando rumorosità aprendo e chiudendo il baule. meno male che ho tenuto la mazda mx5 che in 17 anni mi è costata 160 euro di inconvenienti!!se va avanti così.
