Euro Nymph for Steelhead

When I couldn't get any bites on my floating or sinking line on 7wt rods, I pulled out my euro nymph rod and hooked up with this nice Chromer.
The lightweight euro nymph line allowed me to get the fly deep with minimal drag. The light rod and reel allowed me to elevate my ESN line above the fast current- What I wasn't able to do with my other rods.
Is this a good way to fish for Steelhead? It was for me on that day.

Was this back on Dec 6? I floated it in a Flycraft that day and it was steady rain, all day :D Good job getting that big fish at the end.

Thanks. It was Dec 2 and 3rd. How was your float? I'm going back after Xmas with my Flycraft. I have the small two man raft so that should be perfect for that river this time of year since the water is so low.

@@mavrkflyfishing I got lots of small fish and a few in the high teens. Nothing like your fish. This storm coming in this week should help with flows. Our 3man did okay most of the time, but it did get bony in spots
