President Aliyev is right. There should be equal rights applied to both Azerbaijanis and Armenians. If Armenians wants to live in Karabakh, Azerbaijan then Azerbaijanis also should live in Armenia. They were forcebly deported by Stalin from Zangezur, Goyce, Vedi in 1948. And more than 300thousand Azerbaijanis ethnically cleansed from Armenia in 1990s. They have right to return back to their homes.

Before the Pogroms Armenians used to be by far the largest ethnic minority in Azerbaijan and not only in Karabakh, but far more lived in Baku itself. In 1970 more than 200.000 Armenians lived in Baku alone, of which less than 200 are left. Today the Lasgians are with 2% of the total population the largest ethnic minority, followed by the remaining Armenians with 1.35% and than Russians with 1.34%, followed by the Iranian speaking Talysh with 1.26%. In general Azerbaijan is a very ethnically homogenious country, more than 90% are ethnic Azeris and the ethnic minorities play a very little role.

The Soviet central asia, Soviet Azerbaijan ( Azerbaijan SSR) & other 9 Soviet Socialist Republics are not countries. Beacuse the central asian republics, Other nine constituent republics of the Soviet Union ( USSR) & Soviet Azerbaijan ( Azerbaijan SSR) are one of the constituent republics of the Soviet Union (USSR). According to the March 1991 Soviet referandum majority of people of all Soviet central asian republics, other 3 Soviet Socialist Republics of the Soviet Union (USSR) & Soviet Azerbaijan ( Azerbaijan SSR) overwhelmingly voted for preserving the USSR ( Soviet Union).
