The EU and US have strong bonds and a shared history. But Monsieur Macron says what many Europeans are thinking. We need to strengthen ourselves and not rely as much on the US for trade and defence cooperations. US foreign policy has changed rapidly after Trump was inaugurated. Defence cooperations has turned into invasion threats over night. We need to adapt to this new reality.

Including UK population and spending The EU is spending around 380 Billion euro per year in defense, let's all remember that we are 510 million citizen in the Union (including UK) with a GDP of around 19 Trillion ... With a bit if cohesion and political will that would mean power, power of decision power of self governing, power to stand against any Nation or Block, let's keep in mind that this budget is with an average spending of less than 2% for all nation combined, now let that sink in and compare it with Russia for a second , well there is no comparaison but for that we need unity other wise a nation like Russia of 140 million people with 1.8 Trillion of GDP spending close to 9% of it on defense can bully us. I can bet you as soon as Trump leaves Office, they will go back to normal as if nothing happened. I am an American passport holder living in the EU and hoping to become an EU citizen in the next 2 - 3 years. I want to live in an EU independent of the Deluded States ... as independent as humanly possible. I want the Americans out of my host country (Germany), and I want to see a more united EU that maintains healthy diplomatic relations with China and Russia WITHOUT American interference (e. g. closing down German car factories in China). What Marcon is proposing is good business for France, Germany and UK defence industries. We just need more convergence on projects. The is developing a 6th Gen fighter jet with Italy and Japan. I believe France and Germany and another is also developing their 6th Gen plane. A bit of a waste of money

les français sont des enfants gâtés, ils preferent pleurer a longueur de journée sur le fait que la vie est trop injuste, on ne les aide jamais assez , une reforme des retraites décriée mais pourtant nécessaire a cause de la demographie, quasiment tous les autres pays europeens ont adopté ces reformes sans rechigner ... mais bon en France, tout ce qui ne va pas c'est toujours la faute a macron et bien sur les populistes auraient soit disant la solution ... c'est la faute de l'immigration
