...I'd always wanted both John and Marcello to be together in the band, Europe. Though only for 2 songs they played together live, i really enjoyed watching them play. Botha 'em with different 🎸 playing styles, together they would've created great & unique music (esp 🎸 solos) had they worked it out & stayed along with Europe. I like both 🎸ists ie, Norum & Kee equally and have been hearing Europe since my high school days way back in latter part of 80's. It's always nostalgic to hear their old hits & I still love all those nos... 🎼🎸🎸🎶😍👍...

I was there with my friends in freezing temperature. He was really brave to stand there almost midnight freezing to death and singing live. It was perfect. Unforgettable. Followed by fireworks. Perfect countdown.

Rosa, this was the one and only occasion that EUROPE performed with 6 band members, with both John Norum & Kee Marcello manning their guitars with the rest of the group, and this was a live broadcast to boot. And yes, EUROPE took care of all of their business on the night of the biggest party this entire planet has ever seen. =)

@@MrDemoncrusher Yep.....Kee was the one with the shades on in the dark of night on the right side of the stage there. The stage order was pretty well this that night....in front, it was John Norum at stage left, Kee Marcello at stage right, with John Leven and Joey Tempest as free roamers, while in back was Mic Michaeli at rear stage left and Ian Haugland at rear stage right. And I think that Kee might have used that night to wrap up his EUROPE career, unbeknownst to most. =P

I remember this show back then, live on TV. I realized that his voice was gone and there was going to be a new era of Europe that was going to be a lot more rockier and at low tunes (because it was obvious that they were going to get back the band together). I was right. I still enjoy seeing them in concert, but I miss the Joey's magical clean and high voice from the mid to late 80's when he was one of the best voices in rock.

Слава богу ,что у Джоуи голос стал ниже,но он с голосом,другие певцы измотаные гастролями вовсе безголосые.джоуи повезло,голос есть,но ниже. Not easy playing and singing when its cold. But they delivered. To bad that keep Marcelo was left out in the cold for good.

It was Kee's decision alone to not continue with EUROPE after both this night, and the night that EUROPE got their awards for sales of 'EUROPE 1982-1992' at the Hard Rock Cafe in Stockholm back in April of 2000. He likely saw that both Joey and John Norum had reconnected, and probably thought that the band continuing with 2 guitarists like that would have been like the old phrase 'Too many cooks in the kitchen', and just chose to surrender the lead guitarist spot back to John. To me, it was the right call. And in terms of the weather that night, I think I read that it was minus 15C there, and going only with 2 songs was just right for that evening's climate. EUROPE only needed 10 minutes anyway, and that's okay. Plus, Joey was battling a bit of a physical cold too, so him only being out there for no more than 20 minutes was a prudent choice. And no, the instruments weren't going to sound normal anyway. Just what cold air will do. So, for those conditions, that's as best as they were going to sound. Again, EUROPE didn't need to stay out there long. And it all worked out in the end. =)

@@RaginRonic hmm. It's seems like you know a lot of things going on back stage. I'm interested to know more about this amazing band. My childhood heroes. I perfer kee Marcello for lead guitar. His technical skills is way and beyond mr Norum. Just listen to the superstitious solo. John is struggling every time.

@@kennykarlsson920 Remember 2 things though, Kenny....A] it was a freezing cold night that EUROPE did that 2-song gig on, of which the band was only going to get 2 songs anyway, and B], John had not been on stage with EUROPE, in an official live concert, since October 14, 1986 in Munich, West Germany, so John still had a little catching back up to do. Plus, John tends to take a more raw feel when he hits the 6-string. But it's all apples to oranges at the end of the day, and I'm an EQUAL fan of both Norum & Marcello. I don't pick one over the other, as I'm a EUROPE fan first & foremost. X-)
