My question is if they are “humanitarians” why don’t they provide help; water, food and medical if needed and take them back to shore. Most refugees are from poverty-stricken or war-torn countries, faced with the most difficult situations and so they choose this dangerous way out, taking a chance or a gamble to reach Europe and hopefully have better opportunities in life. Meanwhile, host countries are beginning to feel the burden of giving support and help while at the same grappling with the effects of a worldwide economic crises. It is a very sad story that we can only watch from afar.
