@stevee89209 ай бұрын
So pleased for Luke, gutted for Olexi I don’t want to see anyone injured. Luke’s strategy on the deadlift nearly backfired on him, he timed it to do all 5 and was so close but just couldn’t get that last weight over his knees, that meant he was one of the first out on the Viking press, so had very little rest. Obviously he’s a mountain when it comes to pressing but I feel he could have got another 2 if he’d either gone faster on the first 4 deadlifts or lifted the 5th, therefore giving him an extra few minutes of rest. Either way at 39 to come out and win Europes strongest man is a massive feet and I couldn’t be happier for him. The young lad (sorry I would spell his name wrong) has so much potential, he would have podiumed if he could have lifted that last stone, he was slower than Luke and Aivers so would have dropped the half a point lead he had on them but he is definitely one for the future. What we have learnt is nothing is a given until all events have been done. The stones have always been notorious for mistakes (I would though have preferred to see the heavier stones, this is after all Europes and I believe less chance of injury as competitors take that split second longer to make sure they have got the grip etc). Olexis may not have got injured but he also wouldn’t have managed the last stone. The right result in the end. Well done to Luke and all the competitors, what a great show 👍🇬🇧
