Arms Unlimited is just down the road from me! I've only ordered from them a few times when I'm looking for genuine Colt parts but they are usually very fast on shipping!

I have nothing bad to say about Arms Unlimited, at least not yet.

A few years ago, we got a bunch of Colts with that rail. Half were marked Colt and the others marked Troy. Troy calls them the Drop in Battle Rail.

I was told by a good source who made them, it was not Troy. Troy seems to be hated in the gun community, but my Troy rails are high quality’ hopefully something official will be announced on the rails soon.

So many guys freaking out these are chambered in .223 instead of 5.56 (apparently verified by Colt). Wouldn't stop me from shooting 5.56 in any of my Colts marked .223. The CIP doesn't even recognize a difference between 5.56 & 223 ammo like SAAMI does.

I have a chamber gage, its not 5.56, in addition it will only pass a .223 headspace gage 1.4636, it will NOT pass a 5.56 gage, 1.4646, thus the reason I personally do not plan to shoot 5.56 in it.

Awesome Score On That Euro/Colt Carbine 😊😀 Would Definitely Like Too See You Do That Front Sight Base Repair On a Video Thanks 😊
@ar-15techtipsinunder5minut86 ай бұрын
Its already repaired, I didn't think to make a video because it took nearly an hour with some interruptions. I only have a I Phone to video with, hard to do. Basically what I did was take it apart and reassemble it using Cliff Longs method. He came up with a way to bias the front sight slightly right or left depending on which way it needs to go and whether you use clamshells or a reaction rod to accomplish this. Maybe Cliff stops by, its his method, he can explain it better than I can.

I was summoned. 😉 Anyways, I'll just keep it simple since the method is pretty simple The Reaction Rod tools are used (I only use the fin topped versions) when you need the FSB to move a small degree to the right to get closer to center. The upper receiver vise blocks are used when you need the FSB to move a small degree to the left to get closer to center. And it may not always end up dead center, but that depends on how badly the FSB was canted. In the cases where it's so far off that this method can't get it centered or at least close to centered, then either the barrel needs to actually have the FSB reinstalled correctly for being installed canted at the factory, or the indexing pin notch of the upper was not machined on center. I've had both and I prefer to just send the bad part back to wherever it came from.
