Disneyland in Anaheim, California, came before Disney World in Orlando, Florida. 1955 vs 1971

And Disneyland is WAY better than Disney World. The weather alone makes it better but also the history, the park itself, etc. Europeans always go to the Florida one and usually don't even know the California one exists. I don't get it. Florida is horrible. I lived there for nine months and broke my lease to leave.
@RaesWorld723

@@donnabertWe are going to have to agree to disagree. Been to both. Disney World is way better. Far more to do and experience. People aren't getting in a hissy fit over fake axes on the Haunted Mansion ride. 🙄 You have Epcot, Animal Kingdom, 2 water parks, The race track, ESPN Spirts, Disney Springs, and Hollywood Studios. And IF that wasn't enough, Discovery Cove (swim with a dolphin, feed a manta ray, go snorkeling) is just down the street across from Sea World. Just beyond that is Universal Studios and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. At DL in CA you used to have knots berty farms (now closed) and Wild Bills (is that gone now?) And California park. And??? Oh wait, that's it. 😂😂 DL is great for a 1 day trip. WDW is for a vacation!

@@RaesWorld723 I just have a particular hatred for Florida. I also hate southern California but I hate it less than Florida. I think it's very east coast/west coast. I grew up in the SF Bay Area. Have lived in the following places: oregon, washington (state), Iowa, Florida, California. Boy Florida let me down, could not stand the weather or the culture and I cut my lease to leave. My west coast husband lived in Boston for a year, then moved back. I think moving west from the east is just easier. I wasn't talking about all the parks nearby. Just if I ever had to pick, for the weather alone, I'd go to the original.

They are basically the same just one is a whole lot bigger I have been to both and I prefer Disney World you get more bang for the buck and Florida doesn't cost an arm and a leg while you are there. I liked Knott's Berry Farm better and Budweiser be. Hollywood there is not much you can actually say about it.

I have lived in Oklahoma for decades now. It is not flat. It is ony flat in the panhandle of the state, or as you get close to Kansas. Oklahoma is rolling hills with some high spots that qualify as mountains but not too high. --------- Black Mesa is a mesa located in an area covering parts of the U.S. states of Colorado, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Quick facts… Elevation: 4,973 ft (1,516 m) ----------- Mount Scott (Comanche: Pisaroya, "Big Mountain") is a prominent mountain just to the northwest of Lawton, Oklahoma rising to a height of 2,464 feet (751 m) and is located in the Wichita Mountains near Fort Sill Military Reservation and lies in the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge ------------ Not real high but not flat. ----------- Oklahoma Lakes and Boating With more shoreline than the Atlantic and Gulf coasts combined, Oklahoma holds more than 200 lakes with over 1 million surface acres of water. 👍 🎉

Oklahoma is kind of a strange place. It's extremely diverse geographic. There are at least four ferry distincts areas that don't share a lot of similarities with each other. I've lived and worked in a lot of states and Oklahoma has always been the most unique. Funny thing is the people tend to be quite culturally diverse in conjunction with the geographical areas. You have places that are more deep south places that are more southwest places that are more Midwest and the culture in those areas tend to reflect that quite distinct in many ways.

@tortugachica8746 you are probably referring to arroyos. Yea Oklahoma is usually referred to as part of the Great plains and while that is true only part of it really fits that description. Oklahoma is a transition area. The N and NW portion are very much great plains the rest of the state is not. I mean there is a forest that runs through the central portion to the NE of the state that was essentially considered impenetrable. With post oaks and thorns so thick it would put jungles to shame. This gave rise to a very Appalachian style culture. While the SE has deep old growth forests with hills and swamps that gave rise to a very deep south style culture. The SW is fairly arid with very old rock formations similar to what you see in New Mexico and Arizona. No other place I had lived had such a distinct shift.

Pennsylvania is PART of the Rust Belt, yes. The whole Rust Belt is the strip of states from the western NY State, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, then eastern Wisconsin and Chicago on the coast of Lake Michigan. A lot of the cities within these areas are heavy in manufacturing and use the Great Lakes and the Sea Way for shipping. I am from Milwaukee WI and aside from the beer breweries we also have or HAD a lot of large scale manufacturing. Though a lot of that has slowed down over the last 20 years, it's still a very blue collar city with people that are not afraid to work and get dirty.

They call it the Brickyard because the start/finish line is several rows of bricks. The winning team, while kneeling down, lines up across the start/finish line & kisses the bricks!!! Florida is the vacation destination and where retirees go in the winter because it is the only state that stays warm throughout the winter. Normally, if you see a weather map of the U.S. in the winter, Florida stands out as the only state that shows 70s and 80s or 21° to 26° C. Billy Joel wrote the song Allentown in the 80s for Allentown PA. The town sued him and won. Allentown is home to Dorney Park a really fun roller coaster park with a water park right next to it. Hershey also has it's own Amusement park. Additionally, we have Lancaster which is famous for the Amish people, horse and buggies, Amish restaurants and stands in various farmers Markets in the surrounding areas, and a home that you can tour. They invented the whoopie pie. Two round pieces of cake with icing /frosting in the middle. We have caverns like Indian Echo and Crystal caverns you tour by boat. And let's not forget that famous battle that turned the tide of the civil war. Gettysburg. PA is 300 miles from E to W and 150 miles from N to S. At 60mph it takes 5 hours from the Jersey border to the Ohio border. Fun fact! Delaware was a part of PA until July 4, 1776. What makes Florida so appealing to a lot of American (mainly Northerners) is the fact that most of the large metropolitan areas are coastal beach cities. Yes while others states have beach towns, its the combination of the warm weather and the waterfront property,. You can swim year round in Florida, which is not the case in most, if any other states.

Whereas IN is full of corn, but there's more than corn in Indiana for an agricultural supplier for the USA for pork, chicken, and beef. It's known for the large pork tenderloin sandwich, and sugar cream pie. Derivation of the word Hoosier is not usually explained as coming from an First Nation. Florida juts out into the Gulf Stream and the southern half of Florida is 5 to 10 degrees warmer than South Carolina or Georgia. When you are trying to escape the cold, every bit counts. Roughly speaking, people east of the Mississippi river tend to go to Florida if they go south for the winter, while people west of the Mississippi river are much more likely to go to Arizona, Texas, or Southern California.

How very cool!!! I'm related to William Brewster. He was the "minister" who gave the first Grace. He was an outlaw who stowed away on the Mayflower thanks to the price on his head from Queen Elizabeth (QEI) our family did manage to travel far and wide. We have a family cemetery in Indiana, almost exactly in the middle of the Indiana University. The first buried there was in 1619. How fascinating would it be if some big company like Finding your roots, tracked down descendants from each of the Mayflower's surviving families for a gathering? Lol it would be enormous even if you couldn't find half of us! I know the Brewster line through its daughters and marriages are also related to the Roosevelts, Truman, and John Tyler (I believe) I find history fascinating! Congrats to your family for keeping the land for so long! That's impressive!

Since it’s important to compare for some reason, Colorado has some of the most famous ski resorts in the world with nearby airport access. Here are some of the famous airports in Colorado, all higher than the relatively unknown Evanston: Park County (made famous by South Park) Airport in Colorado is at 9,934 feet above sea level. It’s the highest airport in North America. The city it is attached to, Leadville, is generally situated at 10,000 above sea level. The Airport in Telluride, CO is at 9,078 feet above sea level. The Central Colorado Airport (Buena Vista) sits at 7950 feet above sea level. The Aspen/Pitkin County, CO airport is at 7820 feet above sea level. The Gunnison/Crested Butte airport sits at 7678 feet above sea level. I’d mention Colorado Springs, Vail and Steamboat Springs, but they are below 7000 feet. Denver actually has one of the lower airports in Colorado. DIA is famous more for being one of the busiest airports in the world (#6), it’s the largest airport in the US and the second largest in the world. All while being over a mile in altitude (5434 feet).

So I grew up in Colorado and the funny thing is that where most of the people live (at the foot of the mountains) it's actually a cold desert. So it's dry and the snow actually melts really quick when it happens, because temperature swings are so wild. Actually a big reason for the ski resorts is that the climate is dry, so the snow is powdery for skiing instead of heavy and wet like in the Midwest.

I am from California originally, I lived in Arizona for 5 years and currently live in Florida. As far as Arizona yes it is very hot but it’s no different than living where it is super cold like Michigan. When the weather is extreme you stay inside. When you need to go somewhere you go from climate controlled car to climate controlled building. You dont spend a lot of time outside. I will tell you California is one of the most beautiful places in the world. The problem is the secret got out and now everyone wants to live there so it’s so damn expensive. I am 53 and lived there most of my life. I finally had to leave because it was so expensive. It is great though. If you live in SoCal you can surf and snow ski in the same day. There arent really any other places you can do that. I just wish it wasn’t so overcrowded because it really does have the best weather in the world. Florida gets a bad rap. Our laws allow the public to know about crimes immediately. Most other states done have laws like that. Florida Man is because all our weird crimes are announced online within 24 hours. In other states they dont do that. So we get all the attention for stuff all the states probably have, you just dont hear about it. There is a Kansas City in both Kansas and Missouri, they are very close to each other. The one is Missouri is the more populace one. Vegas is a ton of fun. Atlantic City is crap. I was there once, that was enough. To answer your question about why people migrate to Arizona and Florida when they retire, it is a complex reason. One is the weather is really mild in the winter. It’s maybe 40 at the coldest in the winter overnight. It averages about 60-70 F during the day. Some of the other southern states are ok but you still may get some snow during the year. The housing costs aren’t too bad. There is plenty to do. Many people have vacationed in Florida so they feel familiar to it. There is tons of what we call Snow Birds in both states. These are people that winter in Florida or Arizona and then move back up north during the summer when it is really hot here. I believe the reason they dont pick New Mexico is there isnt as much to do there and some places get cold. Mormons are the ones that colonized Utah and the headquarters of the LDS (the main Mormon church ) is based there. Also BYU which is their college is there. But there are some amazing places in Utah. I love Arches. It is the most beautiful place. Ok this has gotten long enough. I can tell you that you need to look at the map of the US with the mountains and you will understand more why some states get as cold as they do.

I'm in Ma. Massachusetts Mass a choo(or chew) setts. If you ever do decide to move here, this should be where. Massachusetts has a high Portuguese population - especially the eastern part of the state. There are markets owned by Portuguese families and almost everywhere there is someone who could translate. Ma winters have been mild. This winter is colder than most. It can't snow if it is too cold. So, if you see snow, it's only just below freezing. Winter ends after February. March and April have the most rain. We're a fertile state. Spring is very comfortable. Our heat doesn't usually start until July. We do have humidity around the end of August into September. The weather is usually mild until December. No one wants to turn their heat on. It's a thing. The one who can go the longest without turning it on gets props. We have a lot of ocean and beaches. The south coast has many Portuguese. We also have a lot of farms. You can find chicken eggs, goat's milk soaps and other farm goodies. We have fresh farmer's markets and the world's best fresh seafood. You may not think you like seafood, but what you have tried is not true seafood. I have had Bacalhau. We are known for the best Cod fish - the tail of Massachusetts is called "Cape Cod". You will find homes hanging the bacalhau outdoors to dry, or you can buy it in one of the Portuguese markets. We have the best universities and hospitals in the US. We are a democratic state. We have free health insurance available. We are a state that supports itself. There are only a handful of states that can support themselves and all, but one, are democratic states. We have free University up to a Bachelor's degree (4 years). Not all states offer that. I think it's why they call is the intelligent state. Trust me, we have all types of people in this state. You can enjoy mountains, beaches, forest, snow, skiing, and a lot of US history here in Massachusetts. We have 4 distinct seasons and it's noticeable. Many other states maintain only two seasons - like California, Arizona, etc... Our trees grow and fill in the leaves during the spring and into summer. The leaves start to turn colors in the fall into winter. Have I sold my state enough? Lol Look at my user name. See the cunha...

Florida - just North of Tampa. We are Surrounded by beaches on 3 sides. The other Southern states have a tendency to snow. If you're trying to escape cold weather, we ARE warmer. Yes, we did get snow up in North Florida, but the last time it snowed in Tampa was 1977. It DIDN'T snow below I-10 this year. So, we DO get a FEW cold days each year, but they're rare. Yes, we've PERSONALLY had Hurricane issues the last couple of years. But my parents moved the Familly here in 1979. I was going to school in Houston and living there - I moved my family here in 1984. I've moved out to other states a few times, but always moved back. Out of ALL the states I've lived in, Florida is the one I keep returning to! I think you would LOVE Florida. The Gulf Beaches are totally different from the Atlantic Beaches, and the beaches in the Keys have a flavor that is totally their own! So there is great variety of beaches! Some of the BEST beaches in the world are in Florida. The prize winners are usually on the West Coast. My favorites are the ones around Clearwater, St. Pete, Dunedin, there is just too much to do here! I've got to stop! There is just too much!!! And I didn't even mention Orlando,, witth Disney, Umiversal and so much more. About an hour East to the Space Coast and NASA! HEAD SOUTH to Miami - or North to St. Augustine - which is the OLDEST CITY in the Country! Like I said I forgot Daytona Beach! or Key West! Or ...No, I've got to stop!!! Love you!❤❤❤

The Old Dominion - Virginia. Very historic,… Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, an hour away from the beach, another 2 hours to hit the Blue ridge mountains.

The key to remembering which Disney is where: DisneywORLd- ORLando, Florida. DisneylANd, ANiheim, California. Old folks retire to Florida because there's no state income tax for individuals. I'm a Rhode Island native, and have noticed you're doing much better pronouncing the states that share our borders, Connecticut and Massachusetts. By the way, Rhode Island has a lot more going on than "Family Guy." Great beaches, lots of independently owned restaurants, and a lot of uninhabited forestland in the southern areas. Great swimming, great dining, great hiking and camping.

Yes, people walk around Mardi Gras naked. I'm going there for my 4th Mardi Gras in the first week of March. The food is amazing. And Area 51 is in Nevada, not New Jersey. He even mentioned it in the video.

Oklahoma. The description was accurate. We're mostly known for tornados and our longstanding football rivalry with Texas. We're not all flat, though. Lots of forests and hills in the eastern part of the state where I'm from.

@european-reacts Ok. I will say it again Kansas City IS IN KANSAS AND MISSOURI!! The city straddles the two states. The KC Chiefs, however, reside, at least the headquarters (HQ) and the stadium, are in Missouri. 😊

Wrong on Utah as we also have ski slopes and a lake that is so salty that a person can float on it. Yes I'm used to the Mormons and red rocks but I find that offensive. Offensive since I am born and raised in Utah myself.

I am also born and raised in Utah and it is a lot more than Mormons and rocks. The mountains are beautiful here and often get overlooked by outsiders, a lot more than rocks.

I'm listening from the Ozarks. Although our part of the Ozarks is in Missouri it's also in for other states. Some of those states have extremely large cities but they are not in the Ozarks. For those of us that live in the Ozarks consider it sort of like a state of its own. Only 11 states are larger than the Ozark Mountain region. In the population within the Ozarks is right at around 1 million. So even though it's somewhere in the center of the country we are sparsely populated. And it has its own unique beauty and natural wonders. Like around 1500 miles of the clearest Springfed rivers. But we could just as easily be listening from the ranch in northern Arizona. Or the one a little north and west of Pikes Peak in Colorado. I love both those States they are beautiful and have much Recreation. It's where we mostly do our four-wheeling. But the old lady and I decided to live out our years in the Ozarks. It is away from the crowds of people. An unlike Arizona and Colorado it has much deeper Christian values. It's like what America was 50 + years ago. And any time we want entertainment we have Branson the Undisputed entertainment capital of the world. 🚜🤠🐂

Florida is a hub for travel because of a few reasons. One being the further south you go the warmer it is, so you have a lot more time during the year to visit the beach. The other main reason is actually two reasons in one. Florida is 90% surrounded by water so there are a lot more options as to where to go. Because there is more beach property available it is cheaper to vacation there. I'm sure there are a ton of other reasons, but these are the first ones that come to mind.

Upstate South Carolina here. Humidity is bad in Late Spring to Late Fall. Myrtle Beach is a bucket list to visit, lots to do. We have great lakes and near Greenville, SC. Thank you for sharing! He was pretty funny about most things as I have traveled across the US. West Virginia is hillbillies, vs southern country is the difference btw. And Mt. Rushmore is in South Dakota, not South Carolina. I love your interest in United States!

When he said “I'm walkin' here!” he was referring to a line from a movie in 1969 called Midnight Cowboy. Dustin Hoffman improvised the line after almost being hit by a car. The driver actually was pissed at him. It was so good they left it in the movie. Most Americans after Gen X know the line, but not where it is from.
