Tractor pulls. Common activity.
@vladyvhv957926 күн бұрын
To expand further, a "tractor pull" is the redneck version of a drag race. Instead of a drag car, you've got a tractor with insane amounts of horsepower and often either multiple engines or something like a turbine engine hooked up to a sled with a blade on the front and a weight on top that moves forward, causing the blade to dig more and more into the ground. They're often a feature of a monster truck show. As with drag cars, it's not uncommon to see engines explode and other spectacular mechanical failures. That's the main reason people go to see them.

Look again at the tractor pull at 19.30. The trailer that the tractor is pulling, has a very heavy weight that moves forward as the tractor pulls it down the track. Towards the front of the trailer there is a blade on the bottom, that digs into the dirt, and as the weight moves over the blade, pushing it down, that trailer gets harder and harder to pull. Sometimes the engine explodes from the stress of pulling against the massive drag.

The one in North Dakota @19:17 is called 'Tractor Pulls'. It takes place in many states, mostly the middle states. You build up your farm tractor to massive amounts of power and see how much weight you can pull and how far you can pull it. You will notice on the trailer thing behind it (called the sled, since there are no wheels) there you will see a heavy weight sliding towards the tractor as the tractor moves making it heavier and heavier. The winner takes the Gold. Sometimes they explode with a mighty furry. Fun to go see. The wheels you see are not touching the ground, they only touch when they are pulling it back to the starting point.

For New Mexico, the yellow thing on the tire is called a boot and yes, it's meant to keep you from driving anywhere because the police or some other parking authority have a problem with you. Also, kudos on being one of the only outsiders to say "Nevada" correctly! Fun fact, most Americans who haven't lived in or near Nevada mispronounce it. It's not a big thing, per se, but the locals get a little annoyed (just a little) with people who pronounce it with a long 'aah' sound in the middle instead of a short 'a' like 'cat' like you do. That Texas truck with the giant flag is great, but I don't think it's necessarily street legal? And no, you're not stupid for thinking a whale could flip a boat. If there's one thing to learn from these videos, though, it's that homemade ramps never work. 50 50 50!
@Kinoko31416 күн бұрын
I think the boot popped off when he popped his tire. He'll have to put on a spare, but in the end I'd call it a success. Also, police would just arrest you, while parking authorities boot your car.

At 8:40 (Iowa) that's a cattail, the plant grows at the edge of lakes, ponds, and marshy areas, the "cattail" fluff is what is seen in the video. 17:30 ( New Mexico) Yes, the car has a "boot" or "clamp" on the tire in order to keep the car from being moved after parking illegally. 23:15 (Rhode Island) Yes, it is a beaver. 23:52 Yes, looks like a squirrel.

Yes! Oregon schools = fail. Oregon drug laws = fail. Oregon homelessness = fail. Oregon has failed in so many ways. Breaks this willamette valley girl's heart.

Ok when it gets cold out in the Midwest the lakes will freeze and people drive out on the ice to go ice fishing. So you get cars,trucks, snowmobiles,4 wheelers go down every year. And if you own whatever goes in the water you have to get it out of the water and you get a fine from the EPA and it's not cheep so don't do it unless you have a lot of ice.

8:38 cat tails, the forbidden corndog lol. other parts of the plant actually are edible, that part has its uses, just not what she did lol the truck falling through the ice in Michigan is crazy, but happens to several every year, and all of them get recovered. most are not worth fixing and just get junked, but the ice gets so thick driving on it is normal most winters, which means some people try it too early/late in the season and we cant just leave the cars in the lake leaking oil, coolant, fuel, and whatever other pollutants into the water. 21:00 what are we feeding pigs? everything, if any animal will eat it, pigs will too. egg shells, anything you remover from your own food like fat, bones, the parts of fruits and veggies we dont eat like stems, seeds, bark, any old or spoiled/rotten food, just about anything thats not metal, glass, or plastic. there's an old saying about "if you ever need to make someone disappear, befriend a pig farmer" because pigs will literally eat everything but shoes and jewelry.... NOTE: this is NOT advice, just an old saying...

12:40 the safest way possible is to continue driving down the road you started driving down, not backing up *onto a highway*. A good driver sometimes misses his exit but a bad driver never does.

Ya Michigan gets crazy cold, I think it's one of the few place moving water freezes like that. That truck is gone until the lakes unfreeze.

I have already seen a few of people going under bridges without checking the clearance - that is either carelessness or stupidity. However, it does remind me of something I only lived with while living in San Antonio TX - a post next to the bridge underpass to tell you where the flood waters were. Most often this was 3 feet, (bad idea in a car that cannot truly hot-rod thru it) but I did sometimes see it at 4 - which means "go around if you are in a car, idiot!"
