Ultimately, it's just hard to beat European tilt-turn windows when it comes to performance in luxury homebuilding!

The weakiest point about European windows is the way thy are installed and how they need to be made air and water tight around the frame. Installation is often still done with metal brackets which are actually cold bridges. Plus these brackets will hinder you when making the frame air and water tight all around (against the window opening in the wall). An alternative for these metal brackets are special "window frame screws" but you still need to make everything air and water tight around the frame.

Yes, i currently own a prefab kit from Lithuania shipped in and assembled on site. Love the high quality materials, including both european windows and doors. Only concern is with maintenance and/or repairs. Hard to find local support and it will be more expensive than local brands.

@@goodwinluxuryhomes I wanted to make 2 additional copies of the front/back door locks and the blanks for European locks and perhaps the locksmith keying process are different. So even just making copies of keys is a challenge.

@@goodwinluxuryhomes making copies of the front/back door keys is a challenge as the key blanks and the locksmith keying equipment are different in Europe. Also, my interior bedroom doors don't have privacy locks. The spindle size on the interior door locks for the throw bolt are tiny like 0.2 mm. Cannot locate a spindle provider in the US for those.

The problem with the European windows is the glazing still leaks. In 7 or 8 years that window is going to have a foggy haze between the pains, especially in Atlanta.

I get the performance argument, but I’ve used American windows for years and they are just as airtight in my opinion. Maybe it comes down to the install itself??
@goodwinluxuryhomes10 күн бұрын
So under no pressure your probably not wrong. Where these Euro windows shine is when there is pressure applied(ie wind etc) where the seal on most American made double hinges would open up. American made casements are better in this department but still not as good.

Hated the windows when I lived in Europe. Hated the toilets more tho

Maybe we'll do American vs. European toilets next 😂
@dandydan9996 күн бұрын
@@Hgdhgfdssxvbbnjoo yes, european toilets where the water level in the bowl is super low, allows any materials falling in the bowl to adhere instead of just float in the water. Lining the bowl with toilet paper helps.

What do you like about American toilets? Just do not tell it is when water out of the toilet splashes your butt. It is just nasty

Laughing hard watching this as European. In 2024 you discovered our windows - in 2034 you might discover our houses😂 stupid to mount such quality windows into a cardboard house😂 cmon Americans, you can do better. However, I appreciate that you appreciate European quality.

American windows - crap! People praying twice more then European , which is not cold proof at all
@ShadyD3657 күн бұрын
Production American windows suck because they are the cheapest garbage on the market but if you buy the expensive line of windows they are great.
