It's rude to go without invitation! You need to be invited!
But not in India. Indian weddings are huge and people are very kind. Meaning that if you're European with at least some manners, there's no need to worry that you won't make it!
Join us on this crazy idea, where we wanted to experience the true Indian wedding, with lots of light, dances, music and celebration! We couldn't have chose a better random wedding to go to without an invitation! This was simply a blast.
Thank you India and thank you all Indian people for making this possible.

You can definitely attend the main rituals of the wedding 💯 It's just that many guests who are not from family, leave the venue after eating food and attending jaimala (Stage garlands exchange ceremony).. Main wedding happens in Mandap..with rituals like Pheras, sindoor daan, etc. And anyone can attend it too 🥰

@@backpackerfelipe Yeah, I think thats a false info or you may have misunderstood if someone said something like usually close family stays for this part because it is too late. I have attended 100s of weddings with drivers, photographers, caterers, friends around so it is not a complete bar on it. I had been sensing a bit of language barrier there. It's kind of an experience if you get a chance. In phere they are told so many general commandments of a household which are very obvious. Preist make them do a few things together like eating, decorating etc. In phere or encirclement of the fire in 4 the groom follows the bride and in 3 the bride follows. It is in this odd hours so that they can have the moon (Midnight) and sun (dawn) as evidence of their bond and committment. And bidai is just formal bidding off, severence of ties to the maternal family. But good on you to crash into a wedding. You have ticked off one mark of being Desi.

@@backpackerfelipe I am pretty sure privacy was not the reason they did not invite you, the phere ceremony is lengthy and tiresome, not to sound disrespectful but you get bored after 2 hours. I am a Muslim and I was invited especially for the phere ceremony quite a few times. It is fun if you attend it for the first time but after 2-3 weddings the excitement fades away and it becomes a tiring thing to watch for 3 hours and if you are a close friend you have to also attend bidaai, it can take upto 6 hours easily, so it's like going to wedding at night and coming home after 6 in the morning. The close family almost always attends the full ceremony, that is the reason you can see people sleeping like Fufaji(it's a pun, ask any Indian) I think they were worried about you not getting enough sleep. I think if you "insisted" enough they would have sure allowed you, I think in my best knowledge.

We Indians believe in "Athithi Devo Bhava" which means the "Guest is God". The father of the Groom was only happy to welcome you both to the wedding. That is how it is all over. It definitely must have a privilege for the hosts to have you amidst them to share their happy moment. The groom too was overwhelmed and it did show on his face and words. It was really nice to see you both enjoying every moment (except the betel leaves) Nonetheless Awesome Video for sure.

@@FilipMik i think you misunderstood it. Bcz if they had any problem they would not have let you in in the very initial stage of the wedding. They might have said that now only close relatives attend the full weddings (till the last rituals). Bcz many relatives and friends leave the weddings after jaimala and dinner. And after jaimala, the rest wedding rituals becomes boring for rest of the PPL , so they leave the weddings. And that's the reason, they would have said that you might leave bcz rest rituals are not fun. And you might get bored.

I don’t know about UP but in Maharashtra music has to stop at 10PM. It is not allowed to play loud music after 10PM as it disturbs sleep of other people living around. May be it is same with UP and that is why it stopped before midnight.

PAAN is basically a mouth freshener. We normally have it at the end of the dinner. 😀😀😀

This is India, you may feel many strange things, but it is our sanatan dharm which explains everything. "atithi devo bhava" means guest is like God and we treat them alike. In this wedding you may have felt that no one asked you, "who invited you" and you were welcomed well this is my own idea have your marriage again in India with Indian fan fare and rituals. LOL
