I'm not from Chicago but I used to live there for awhile before moving back to California. Chicago has alot of European tourists, usually French. Last summer, I remember everywhere I went in the city, I always heard French being spoken around me. It's nice to know foreign tourists who come to the states go to other cities besides the cliche east and west coast cities. The Midwest is very much underrated. Chicago is truly a great city. Tip: Go outside the Loop. There's so much more to Chicago than just the Loop. Don't cheat yourself out of all the amazing things Chicago has to offer outside the touristy areas.
@mia.eklund944 ай бұрын
Yes that was one of our reasons why we did a roadtrip in Midwest and not the touristy places. We like to see the country from the locals perspective. For our first trip we made sure to see all the touristic areas since we had limited time there. But if we’re ever there again we will definitely explore more areas 😊😊 Thanks for watching!

If you are German I highly recommend Lincoln Square neighborhood. It is where Mayfest and Oktoberfest are held in Chicago every year and its where the Dank Haus is. Turn of the century its where Germans settled when they came to Chicago. Sadly it's lost much of its German character over the years but the Dank Haus is a must visit in my opinion.

It used to be the most powerful particle accelerator in the world; it was going to be succeeded by the Superconducting Supercollider but that went way over budget and edned up being cancelled, so now the most powerful one is at CERN. They ended up shutting down the main particle collider at FermiLab but there's some other science experiments done there with muons and neutrinos. 🙂
