Bernhard Langer bids farewell on home soil as he made his final DP World Tour appearance in Germany at the 2024 BMW International Open.

The DP World Tour heads to Golfclub München Eichenried for the BMW International Open, the final event of the European Swing, the fourth of five Global Swings on the 2024 Race to Dubai. There's plenty at stake at the sixth and final counting event of the Swing, with a spot at the Genesis Scottish Open up for grabs to the Swing Champion as well as places in The 152nd Open at Royal Troon for the top five players not otherwise exempt on the Race to Dubai. Current Swing leader Guido Migliozzi will be teeing up this week hoping to retain his position at the top above Nacho Elvira, while Thriston Lawrence returns to defend the title he won last year and last week's champion Marcel Siem is among a number of German stars that will be hoping to impress on home soil. Away from the top of the rankings, one of the biggest focuses of the week will be on Bernhard Langer, the most successful German golfer of all time, who is set to make his 513th and final appearance on the DP World Tour. Ryan Fox will also make his third appearance in a regular DP World Tour event this season as he begins a three-week stretch in Europe and he is joined by 2016 Masters champion Danny Willett, who won his maiden DP World Tour title at the BMW International Open in 2012 at Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof Cologne.

Goodbye Bernhard!!! Ein paar Worte zu einem AUSSERGEWÖHNLICHEM Golfer mit großartiger Karriere. Aufgewachsen in Arnhausen zu einer Zeit, wo Golf nur der "UPPER-CLASS" vorbehalten und keinesfalls als Breitensport bezeichnet werden durfte. Hochgekämpft, mit 18 den Mut gehabt Tour Pro zu werden, um anschließend eine Weltkarriere an der Seite der GRÖSSTEN dieses Sports über 50 Jahre auszuüben.....Er hat ALLES gesehen, jeden erlebt, mit jedem gespielt, alles gewonnen was es im internationalen Golfsprort zu gewinnen gibt, er war mit den Größten seiner Zeit Tasche an Tasche. Immer geerdet, immer gläubig, immer Mensch. Ein wunderbarer Erdenbürger. Lass es Dir gut gehen Bernhard und bleibe gesund!! Dieser Mann hat den Golfsport in Deutschland geprägt wie kein anderer! Machs gut!! Es war mir eine EHRE Dir zusehen zu dürfen! God bless you!

I've grown up watching this man playing with Seve, Faldo, Wossie, etc. Truly inspirational human being. I'll never forget the tree shot.

Love Fulford. Great track. Was there when Peter Baker won. A friend and I spoke to Faldo in the car park. He was putting his clubs in the back of a Mercedes estate and we asked for his autograph. He actually asked us about our game, club membership and told us to keep playing with regular lessons. The Benson and Hedges International was a fantastic tournament.
