Really nice sounds and arrangement. I like how the sample is still being used. It works as both contrast and complement to the modular stuff.

Nice. I wondered how your jams would sound with a eurorack system. The dread box modules are a good call. Love ‘me. Keep at it and good luck in the rabbit hole.

Hi, another great vid!! Wow. I'm a new dawless enthusiast currently looking to upgrade my set up by investing in some modular gear. As such, thought I would reach out for some expert advice here.... I have a boss br80 for traditional guitar recordings and an arturia minilab for midi tracks but now want to explore the world of modular synths (dawless). Was wondering if you could recommend a simple rack system and a good sequencer. I like the keystep pro model, however, trying to keep a minimalist setup due to space constraints and wondering if it may be overkill and if the keystep 37 would be better for my needs..Would hate to outgrow it too quickly though... Appreciate any thoughts, advice you may have having used it for awhile. Thanks a mil.

Wish you gave more information about each module. Maybe a link to them as well. The jam sounds great! Would love to see if you can do more.

This Video is just in time! 😁 could you roughly estimate cost or list the modules you used? Also, is this a duophonic synth? I want to create one myself but dont know where to start...
@earlgrayman9823 жыл бұрын
The modules are about 100 each. This guy has 6, so you can do the math, plus the Arturia case. The case is the big expense in Eurorack, aside from feeding the addiction regularly. However, there's a few manufacturers that pump out cheaper cases like Cre8audio, Tiptop etc. It's duophonic if you have two Hysteria modules. Dreadbox modules are a good starting point because they're simple and understandable for a beginner but they also pack a lot of functionality. They sound great too and play well with other modules. You're not gonna feel like any upgrades to your kit obsolesces them from usefulness.

Hey! 🙂 These modules are all from the Dreadbox Chromatic series, which are all currently priced at $99 USD each. The modules from left to right: 2x Hysteria - Performance VCO; Eudemonia - Filter/mixer/VCA; Ataxia - Dual modulator (EG/LFO); Utopia - CV/Audio manipulator; and Dystopia - Noise/crush/filter. For all these modules, plus the case... your looking at about $1,000 USD. The estimated cost of completing my system is about $3,300. Even if you stick to cheaper modules, the price will add up pretty quickly. That is something to keep in mind. I also highly reccomend doing as much research as possible before diving in and have a fairly solid idea of what you kind of system you want to build. Definitely check out www.modulargrid.net Its a cool way to mock up a system of your own and get all of the technical specs and cost of everything... which will make it much easier to plan out your system. 👍

What output module are you using in your rackbrute??
@littleBIGsynths3 жыл бұрын
Both VCOs are going into an outboard mixer (Behringer XENYX 802). 👍No output modules at the moment.

This one I did not like. I wouldn’t say that I’m a purist, but modular without modular percussion just seems like peanut butter and mayo on the same sandwich. I have the Volca Drum and Kick. I have only tried those two of the Volca line, but am suspecting that Volcas are not for me. I also hate my Drumbrute and am less than impressed by my DFAM. All must go. I guess I’m just a picky bastard when it comes to drum machines.
@nebula06973 жыл бұрын
He programmed a really nice beat in the Volca. The Drumbrute doesn't have the best palette but it is the best drum machine interface ever, you can compose on it very nicely. I think you could hook it up to a vermona via MIDI and do amazing composing and sounds. No euclidean beats though. I want to try the euclidean with QU-Bit Pulsar and four basic voices of drums. This here setup on this video would be a perfect setup to pair with some euclidean sequencing. One of the channels of the pulsar you can of course send to a melodic voice.
