They cannot grasp the concept of one tournament having a higher concentration of tougher games - on average - than another tournament. This is stupid. There is a long-standing debate about which tournament is easier to progress through. The argument being that the Euros is more compact with tougher teams than the World Cup, especially considering that this debate has been going on since there were less teams in the Euros than there is now. The fact it was a SMALLER competition was arguably what made it tougher, since the average level of teams' quality was greater than in the World Cup, which will feature teams like Egypt, Costa Rica and Cameroon, etc. Classically, it was harder to get out of the group stages in the Euros than in the World Cup. It's an honest debate. The question is not whether the Euros is "bigger than the World Cup." Of course it isn't and no-one is debating that fact. No-one has ever claimed that the Euros is a bigger or better competition than the World Cup, which is obviously much more prestigious. And yes, the World Cup has Brazil and Argentina in it, the debate is not about disrespecting those teams but simply about which tournament has a higher percentage of tougher games. It's not brain surgery.

No. The Euros is a smaller tournament than the World Cup with a higher concentration of good teams in it than in the World Cup, which means there are less easy games in the Euros, thus making it a tougher competition in general. That's the debate. I don't know why people are getting all triggered about this conversation. Of course the World Cup is bigger and more prestigious, the debate isn't supposed to be an attack on the World Cup. And no, playing the likes of Costa Rica, Tunisia and Ghana, etc, do not make the World Cup harder to progress through than a competition with an average of higher quality teams than those.

Most of them were European teams plus two big teams from South America. Teams France played against in the world cup 2022 were Australia, Denmark, Tunisia, Poland, England, Morocco, and Argentina. Look! France against 3 European teams, and 1 big South American team. Do you think Morocco is not at the same level as some European teams like Poland and Denmark? Their players are playing in top European leagues. Remember not all teams playing in Euro are at the level of France, Germany, Spain, Italy, or England. It's not. The Euros is smaller and there is a higher concentration of quality teams per average than the World Cup. That means there are less easy games in the Euros. The World Cup has more weaker teams in it, in general. Also, your myopic argument completely ignores African football. That's why you're wrong in your assumption, that is not the debate. The World Cup is clearly the bigger and more prestigious competition and of course it has the giants Argentina and Brazil in it, but the Euros still has less easy games in general and is therefore considered by some to be more difficult to progress through.
