You can easily tell Biniam has at least the power of MvdP. He was in quite a high gear, so he lacked the explosiveness of Matthieu, who also had the slipstream advantage. The hit to his rear wheel distracted him for a split second i think, and MvdP closed the door just enough. Bini's sprint looked smooth and effortless compared to the others.
