I'd missed this live, and had only really seen Williams' incredible long shot to remove the red, as a highlight. Absolute treat to watch the entire frame, thanks Eurosport. Wish I'd seen this live.
@davidrobinson41182 жыл бұрын
I was watching live on BBC1, but during the match I had been pausing it now and again on my tivo box to, you know, make a brew, a snack, go to the toilet etc. On restarting my pause of the live feed it got to the point somewhere with the two reds and the black over the pocket when a voice over piped up and said coverage was continuing over on BBC2. On turning over I was now in 'real time'. The two reds had magically disappeared, I missed Mark Williams' foul on the yellow and Neil Robertson was clearing up on the blue. Doh!!

The game was all about Mark touching a very difficult red and Mark not touching an easy snookered red. Kudos to Robertson, one of the most consistent and brilliant players.

I will tell you a little story about Mark Williams. It was the 2008 World Championship (he had already won twice there at the Crucible) when he faced eventual winner Ronnie O'Sullivan, he was out of the top sixteen. You would thought that was the end. But winning a third world title in 2018 and back as good as ever since. Like Ronnie and John Higgins, they can win matches, let alone win titles. For Neil Robertson, I remember watching the Grand Prix (it was on the BBC at the time) and had a memorable match against John Higgins and went on to win the title. Now, he is like what Ronnie and Stephen Hendry used to do at the top of their form. An incredible match there and a treat for fans. As I said before, how on earth did Mark Williams hit the red, I never know.

I wouldn't call that a story. Hollywood execs won't be beating a path to your door for the movie rights.

if it wasn’t for the fluke Robertson would have put it away early however Williams had multiple chances to put it away and couldn’t. Roberson’s nerves held up better than Williams’s.

3:43 Robertson @ 21 pts, misses the red and the commentator automatically assumes it was due to "pressure"? Why? So, any miss would have been "pressure"? It was not an easy red. These guys make stupid assumptions all the time.

At the start of a video featuring a single frame lasting 30 minutes, I'm wishing there was a Cesar Muroya edited version. But no! The drama of the full length video was incredible. And not knowing the end result, was so hoping for the Mark Williams win. Oh, the disappointment (for MW, not me).
