2:09 It doesn't look like its going that fast...until you compare it with the stuff on the motorway!

I always use Eurostar when travelling London/Paris. Better than air as it takes you from centre to centre.

Fifty years ago airports on the outskirts of cities were easy and quick to get to. Now it seems everyone flies and it is a nightmare to get to the airport, and when you get there impossible to find a parking space. Better to ride a train.

High Speed Trains make people neighbors instead of enemies. I went to Europe many times in the 80's and 90's to ride trains that I had on my Marklin layout. I wish we had a coast to coast train like this in the US.

Wow, what a video - what a sight of a train! Can’t believe that I was on the Eurostar just a short while ago - 5/7/22 Paris to London and 15/7/22 London to Brussels! The cars on the freeway running next to tracks for the Eurostar seem to stand still when the the Eurostar is racing past!I LOVED IT -I AM A SPEED FANATIC! The Eurostar topped it’s own top speed ( to make up a delay from Paris to London!) - 334 km/hr! What a speed - like a racing car on F1!😂😂👍👍

Nice video, I remember I think seeing this when I was younger around somewhere, I think it was on the news. Always got excited to see this train aswell when boarding when going on family holidays to Disneyland Resort Paris. Its a shame that there arent really that many left in service now, because they have been limited I think to eight in service and refurbished. Lovely trains, Have by the way both Liked & Subscribed & look forward to seeing more videos like this in future. Soundtrack suited it 100% so congratulations for getting the right soundtrack to go with it. Keep it up. 😀👍

There were 31 trains built. Only 27 are currently in the fleet. One has been out of service following a high speed derailment and the other three have been retained by the French for use on their domestic services. Eurostar have another lot on order. These are being built by Siemens in Germany.

Its a bridge over the river Medway. Although the spped limit is 70mph on UK motorways the roads on this bridge are particularly wide and many do 100mph while crossing. It shows just how fast the train is going that the cars look like theu are crawling

Trains in the UK, France and Belgium all run on the left. Right-hand running is for track maintenance only.

The high speed line is reversible. Trains can run on either side. Normally in Britain trains run on the left. The line in northern France also runs on the left normally.

I would guess that the right hand running might have been for track maintenance or running around another train. I rode this line from St. Pancras to Paris this past August and we ran on the left in both the UK and France.

Saw this video on a video about high speed one, not sure if this video is simply ripped from the DVD, as the helicopter shot with the M20 motorway was a promotional shoot for Eurostar.

Siemens secured an order from Eurostar for e320 trains which will be in service late 2014. so for now it's all Alstom built modified TGV's..

Hey Chris, can you reply with a link of the song because ive been trying to find the song for 5 years.
@MartynCole11 жыл бұрын
Anyone know why the train starts on the left track, switches to the right, then goes back to the left? Is it because the cuts in the video are out of sync and when it's on the right it's preparing for when it gets to the French system? Martyn.

because we are stupid. But this is our only high speed line in the uk at teh moment. All the old network is victorian and the oldest in the world, the bridges and tunnels that teh lines go through are not tall enough to allow double decker trains unfortunately!

Usually, both French and British trains travel on the left, but this shows the Eurostar on the right. Why is that, does anyone know? TRiG.

Hello there! I was wondering who owns this footage? I'd potentially be interested in using it for another project! Do you have an email address I could contact you on? Thanks! Joe
@PenzancePete11 жыл бұрын
Because France - and indeed every country on mainland Europe - has a bigger loading gauge.

Do you own this footage - if so could I use it? Will give a credit - naturally, I am making a documentary that has a scene on the Eurostar. Check out our videos.

The "old" Eurostar. Back when it was comfortable and a joy to take to and from France. Today it's less comfy than a city bus.
@Tehgoat11 жыл бұрын
Why does the UK not have double decker trains?, France has them!
@bubba8422 жыл бұрын
UK does not have a standard loading gauge like France does. Our tunnels and bridges were built a long time ago and are too small for double decker trains.
