When I was first visiting Amsterdam in the 80s and 90s, I remember this song playing everywhere. I’m one bar, they used to line up free shots when it played! It was a freewheeling fun vibe.always busy. Loved it. I live here now!

In 1980 at least three songs were better then the winner: Amsterdam by Maggie Theater by Katja Cineman by Paola. I wonder how much the record company bribed to make Logan the winner. He was simply outclassed...

Cette chanson aurait mérité pour moi de gagner malheureusement après avoir commencé par recevoir 2 fois de suite la note maximale de 12 points elle finit à la 4è place, le vainqueur cette année-là fut l'Irlandais Johnny Logan avec "What's another year".

Not for me either, I find that Logans songs are a bit boring. Sorry but we all have different taste in music. "Amsterdam" and "Theater" are the songs I remember the best from that year. Oh, and also Luxemburg's "Le papa Pingouin", I remember it because of the costumes. :D :D

A great song - unfortunately she was not allowed to sing it English. I just understood what it means, caus she was singing itin German 2 days later in Hitparade of D.T.Heck.

The song and performance are both very good, but I find it odd that she did something very offbeat and unusual in 1974 and then came back with something extremely conventional. I prefer "I See A Star" personally!
