You can see she was really happy she finally did it. Although I agree with most of you, Crisalide was better but I was so happy she finally qualified. We will forget about her first year participating (and trolling) Europe but she gave us two beautiful songs and performances to remember forever. The Man on the Piano is german composer Ralph Siegel who is responsible for many german entries in the past (incl. 1982 winner Nicole) . he composed all of Valentinas entries. I really like this song and I am happy San Marino and Valentina finally made it to the finals. Although I would say it was bittersweet as I also wanted Portugal to be in the finals and they came 11th, just one point behind San Marino. Anyway, during the finals, at the opening, when the finalists were introduced one by one and San Marino was called, I almost cried of happiness for them. Congratulations! I was happy for San Marino that year, not only because it was Valentina's third attempt, but also because it was the first entry in the final in a while for Ralph Siegel, the man at the piano and the composer of this song. He's a Eurovision legend in Germany and was responsible for many great results, especially in the 70s and 80s, but somehow he didn't really have an impact in Germany since 2004. I already assumed that this song wouldn't win, because although she sings it very well, the song sounds pretty mellow overall, but I was happy for them that they finally got a chance to represent San Marino in the Eurovision final 😊.
