Here's my Top 42 for Eurovision 2012, what many say if an amazing year, but I'm not sure I agree.

I have a very clear top 3 this year: 1. Sweden (Yes, I'm on the Euphoria-hype like a lot of fans. But to me, it is a really good song, Loreen performed it well, and I still play it regularly nine years later) 2. Slovenia (Beautiful and underrated ballad. Can't understand how Eva finished so low) 3. Spain (I'm just blown away by that live performance. Didn't care much for Quedate Conmigo pre-contest in 2012, but Pastora gave one of the best vocal performances in Eurovision ever. Love it, love it)

As a Crno I Belo stan, I heavily disagree that it being a rock ballad brings it down, it's so unexpected when you hear it for the first time and if it stayed a balkan ballad in full then it wouldn't be as special to me!

Great to see some love for the joke entries of San Marino and Latvia. They are both in my Top 5 of 2012 and Latvia is literally my second, I still listen to it a lot, especially when I'm not feeling well. Just makes me smile.

I really think that Serbia should have won that year instead of Sweden. Željko really deserved to win. And I'm also glad that you didn't underrate Engelbrrt and the Azerbaijan entry. As I honestly still listen to Sabina. I don't know why but the song is excellent. Same goes with UK.I'm suprised someone has the same taste of the top 2 as me.

This year is better than 2011 in pretty much every way, and a really good year in general. The hosts were meh, but the production and the song quality was fantastic. There are loads of songs from this year that I go back to on a regular basis, and the ballads were especially great this year I feel. Below is my Top 5 1. Sweden 🇸🇪 2. Serbia 🇷🇸 3. Spain 🇪🇸 4. I love how I was like "Oh wow his 5th to 2nd place are all pretty high on my list as well, I'm sure I'll love his winner too" and you go on to pull out my least favorite Azeri entry kjhfnjdashj Great top otherwise, even if I'm not a fan of "When The Music Dies" (the cold cold cold part irritates me so much) I still loved seeing your opinion, as usual. Do you plan on redoing any older tops ever? Cause I'd really like to compare some of my old tops too (mostly because I prefer older ESC over newer ESC), and I'm sure your opinion's changed a lot. No pressure tho! :)

There's nothing stopping you from commenting on the older videos! I see all comments on every video come through my comment feed, I will read it. But I understand what you mean, my opinions have changed on a lot of them. My winner changes I already have a video on. I could see myself redoing the pre-1968 videos, because I didn't have the flags in the corner, they deserve a bit of a graphical improvement. I'll also be doing tops of each country's entries of all time after the year tops, so there's more content there! And maybe next Christmas I'll make another orchestra video...

I agree with you on 2012: it's quite a strong year song-wise! While the finalists were just about right, there was also a substantial amount of NQs that I enjoy. The production was a bit weaker, on the other hand (with the stilted hosting and those boring postcards), even though the stage was pretty. My top ten (honorable mentions to MLD, DEN, and EST): 1 pt: CYP 2 pt: ESP 3 pt: ISL 4 pt: ALB (I love the overwhelming torment here! Rona's vocals are a bit of an acquired taste, but it's still fantastic. Sometimes I waver on whether or not I really enjoy it, though). 5 pt: AZE 6 pt: ITA 7 pt: MKD (I felt like Crno i Belo got much better when it switched onto rock mode. It added substantial punch to the lyrics, which I wasn't really getting in the beginning) 8 pt: FIN -- This it the first time that I have an NQ in my top five, but that's because Nar Jag Blundar was so beautiful. I could see where it failed as it didn't stand out that much, but it would've been a nice addition to the grand final! Pity it's the only Swedish-langauge song since the language rule was dropped. 10 pt: SWE -- I'm actually doubting this, to be honest. Euphoria was definitely a game-changer for the contest in terms of how it was being perceived, so I think it deserved its win. That, along with the minimalistic but ethereal performance, pulled it up this high, though I wouldn't listen to the song voluntarily beyond this year. 12 pt: SRB -- But it's Nije Ljubav Stvar that stood out the most for me that night. Honestly, I think that this is one of Zeljko's weaker entries; I don't click to it as much as with the other four. That said, when the violin motif comes in, it just takes all the worries away. Zeljko is indeed a very talented composer!

2012 is a nice breath of fresh air between two very lackluster years. Azerbaijan did a pretty good job with that production, but I do think the stage could be toned down. I also love the logo this year, not something I usually talk about. I also, niche complaint I know, think there could have been a bigger fire theme with the stage design. I mean come on, the country is called the Land of Fire and the slogan is "Light your fire"... we could have had more fire and stuff, but I digress, great year. 42. Israel 41. Austria 40. I've gave my personal votes to the ESF eurovision songs performed in the Grand Final Show. Very disappointed that Belarus - Litesound - We are the heroes > wasn't chosen for performing the song in the Grand Final Show. In that case i've gave Belarus (Litesound) 7 points.
