*SORRY FOR THE TITLECARD MISTAKE, this is a top 24, not a 14! Comments! (new comments in *bold*, some old comments amended) 24. GERMANY: Okay lol this song has fans. I just don't vibe with it at all, sorry, the lyrics are a bit too simplistic to me and the melody is actively annoying. Maybe I am just a hate fuelled being :,) *23. ESTONIA:* It's better than What Love Is, but is that really a brag? Idk what's up with Estonia these days, their NFs are increasingly a bit boring and their song choices these two or three years have been incredibly bland. 22. SPAIN: It's very "just okay" in every way, it really made no impact on me and I forget what it sounds like immediately after listening. Sorry, Blas. :( On the bright side, I think this makes me appreciate Universo more because it had a bit more spice. 21. NORWAY: I was excited at first when I saw the weird campy costume and staging, but the song is super bland to me, and not very catchy in translation. *20: MOLDOVA:* While you were all agonisingly tricked into watching Kirkirov's multi-hour superspreading self-congratulations event, I was enjoying a nap :) and watched this song a few hours after the premiere. And I don't understand why he can take such pride in writing a song that's objectively bad from a musical perspective only, but because this is about opinions and feelings, it brings me some joy and humour so I kind of like it. :) 19. CYPRUS: This the take I'll get attacked for lol. At this point I'm just so tired of hearing the same thing over and over again from Cyprus even if it's not too bad as a song. I think the stage performance will boost the song a little for me. Also, a SHAMPOO AD?? GIRL. 18. ISRAEL: I dropped this quite a lot of places. I like Eden and it's a chill bop but it's really nothing special and worse than literally every song in her 2020 selection. *17: PORTUGAL:* I sort of like it? It's the type of music I enjoy. But it's deeply uncompetitive and I'm disappointed that they broke their language streak after all these years. *16: DENMARK:* I may be not all there in the head for liking this song lol. It's very old fashioned (and not in a fresh modern way) and quite average in terms of music, but THAT PERFORMANCE... THAT TERRIBLE DANCING.... I HAVE TO STAN. *15: SERBIA:* They served. They are servers. I expected nothing less, but I also got nothing more. 14. IRELAND: While this song is out of my top 10 for now, I really like it and it has grown on me already! It's just very cute and earnest and feels like an upgrade of her 2020 entry. 13. ALBANIA: Very nice revamp, I love how much they amped up the drama and ADDED MORE AGGRESSIVE DRUMMING. It's still more of the same but it's done pretty well and I like it! *12. AUSTRALIA:* I'm still figuring out how to feel about this one and I wonder how she'll stage it. It's very fun and catchy, so different from Don't Break Me but still good in its own right. 11. CROATIA : I think 80s inspired bops are so overdone at this point but this one just stays stuck in my head so well, so I really like it. *10. BELGIUM:* I still think booting Luca out of the band was an absolutely horrible thing to do. But this song, I quite like, as much as if not slightly more than their last year song. It's very subdued and retro, and nothing else sounds like it. 9. SLOVENIA: I love her voice but it is a very slow build and I'm disappointed it's in English. But the gospel choir is super pretty, it has a nice final chorus. *8. ROMANIA:* I went very cold on Alcohol You by the end of the 2020 season and was really wishing she'd bring a more "pop" song, and this is exactly what I was hoping for, a really cool dark pop number. I think if it's as awkwardly performed as her NF last year it could drop in this ranking, but I choose to be optimistic! *7. THE NETHERLANDS:* Sooo, I'm the only one who loves this, got it. I connected more with Grow last year because it hit so close to home but I feel like in a time where EVERYTHING is kind of sad and bittersweet, having a beautiful, hopeful, colourful celebration of culture like this is very needed. 6. LITHUANIA: I'M SO GLAD THEY GAVE THE ROOP ANOTHER CHANCE (even if they had little competition this time lol). Now the holy betting odds quartet from last season is entirely back.

@eurovision gal. Our tastes are different because my favourite is actually Moldova. But I also love Romania, Italy, Ireland, and oddly enough Denmark for me is, sort of enjoyable. Do you know those times when something is that bad, that’s it’s actually good. That type of enjoyment. It’s good to see someone put cyprus low down because, all I hear is lady gaga. I don’t feel like we need a copycat entry for “bad romance” Also, the song seems to promote Satanism which, means some will really not vote for it. I agree with you about Spain. It’s very empty and bland. And Germany too, is more like something that would belong on a children’s tv show.

​@@cultfiction3865 hi :) honestly that's completely okay that your taste is different and sharing our different rankings is part of the fun! i totally see why you'd love moldova's song, it's very campy and fun even if it's not high art. that's also what in the danish song. i see a lot of gaga comparisons for el diablo, idk. i think gaga draws very strongly from eurodance music and that's pretty much what cyprus has made, but imo what makes gaga different is she often throws a weird/experimental take on that sound in her best work which has... definitely not been done here, imo it's a bit generic. i think all the devil/satan/fallen angel references are just the artists being edgy ahaha, i guess more conservative people won't vote for them but i think the majority will either not care or find it cool.

@@eurovisiongal7007 Actually, potential ESC-results-wise...I think Eric, Tusse and Dotter are not that far apart. I think they'd all finish in the 6th-10th range, with maybe Eric having sneaky top five potential. I think the Mamas would be 10-15 so again, they wouldn't be bad. I actually really like Tusse's song so even though Eric's my fave here, I'm not going too hard on it. Sting is still my favourite Melfest song of his. 😂

This is certainly a step up from last year, gonna try and comment on some of the new songs/revamps/whatever else comes to mind 23. I guess I am happy for him finally getting into Eurovision after like, what, a decade? Song’s fine but I appreciate the persistence. 21. His name is defunct Roblox currency that’s all I can think about when I hear this song (that has nothing to do with anything, just a random thought) 20. Moldova was my dead last last year, at least the song’s not absolutely boring this time :P I have zero idea how it sounds/will sound live though, that’s kinda my concern seeing as Prison was uh...something. 17. O_o This one is certainly interesting...I’m sure it appeals to someone though, so I’ll let people be. 16. Hey at least they’re singing in their native language fully again after like...2 or 3 decades lol...I think this one has some charm to it maybe? I’m just a sucker for native language songs. 15. It’s a fun song but I imagine the subreddit probably hates this song with the same vitriol Hasta la Vista got (lol) 12. Oh this is a banger I really like this one, concerns are definitely valid though. 10. o hello there good to see you :) i also like native language songs more than if they were in english automatically tbh. i don't think this year really screams 2000s vibes but i think now that eurovision has had its peak "professional" era with mostly radio pop songs and a fancy stage production, maybe it's back in style to have more unusual and silly songs.

Belgium: love this, i love creepy songs and this serves it 😌 Denmark: let's be alone in liking this ok, my favorite from the selection (which i thought was G O O D) Estonia: lol i love the song, don't like his vocal, um, abilities.
