Norway have stayed in the semi final 3 times: 2007, 2011 and 2016. Now we are in 2021...... so who knows, 4 - 5 years in between, no semi final last year so if there is a system here...... Sweden are harder to get rid of as you put it. But Norway is not all that hard. In 2012, Norway were saved by the bell. Ending last in the final tells a lot really. In 2019, if the jury had decided alone, we could have stayed there as well. In 2015 the oposite happened. If the public had decided alone we could have failed too. So you see: there are possibilities that you might get your wish about Norway. If it doesn't go all that well, we are happy to send you a little break, and give you the oportunity to get out and have some fresh air or anything you want to do when it's on. It's our pleasure! Greetings from the UK! Wow, this is a very detailed insight - yes, I think it was obvious the last 3 times Norway didn’t qualify that they weren’t going through, but this year is difficult, because the odds, the fanbase and the press seem to think TIX will do ok. It is certainly a striking performance, whether you like it or not (I do not, RIP Blåsemafian and KEiiNO etc.) I’m hoping it will hinge on the fact that most people who voted for TIX were his Norwegian fans, as in, the ones who can’t vote for him at Eurovision, and his appeal won’t be far-reaching at the Contest itself. All I can say is: so sorry for your loss 🥲

@@JoeBleasdaleReal Thank you. In fact you are talking to one of those who voted and rooted for KeiiNo in the MGP and felt like a fallen angel when they didn't win. However, at work my boss has played both versions of the song time and again from the semi final where he along with KeiiNo, both pre quaiified , performed their songs, so it has definately grown on me. But, that's to say, I don't think that the whole world has a boss like ours. You mentioned Ireland, I love that song and hope it goes through. I have left to listen to Australia and a few other countries. I do like the UK though! Good luck!

I don't even understand why wiwibloggs saw Ireland as a sure qualifier, I said from the start it would end up last in the SF. I never liked the song, and the staging was ok, but some countries like France proved that with a good song and vocals you don't need a staging.

Sure qualifiers 🇲🇹Malta - Destiny has it all: voice, stage presence, charisma. I sense that the performance will be such a show: empowering, powerful and appealing. 🇱🇹Lithuania - Energy, quirkiness, a song which is both radio-friendly and unique on its own, along with such a captivating performance. The Roop has all the chances to become Lithuania’s best scoring entry. 🇨🇾Cyprus - I agree with what you said about being mainstream, and in this case Elena has so much potential to shine like a true performer can on that stage. Nothing else to add. 🇸🇪Sweden - Well, it’s Sweden...but the main reason is Tusse himself: he manages to put so much emotion and passion when he sings and that really elevates what’d be a standard, generic song. Other qualifiers 🇷🇴Romania - This has emotions, beauty and a strong message which really resonates with probably everyone. I think that Roxen will have a really interesting performance, and overall it’s one of the best entries. I think it’s quite definite. 🇦🇿Azerbaijan - It has those ethnic vibes for which the country is know for, and they are masters with the staging, which helps in elevating a really good song, which could feel a little bit too repetitive with all the “Ma ma ma ma mata hari”. Overall, this is great, and I’m very curious to see what they’ll do in Rotterdam 🇷🇺Russia - I’d say Manizha is one of the most interesting artists this year, she breaks all standards and stereotype with her own, personal style and an attitude no one else has. I think she has one of the most diverse songs with what will probably be one of the most diverse performances. A stand out. 🇺🇦Ukraine - I think this is another case of an entry and act that’s so different from the rest and that will be such a stand out. Televoters will love them, I don’t know if the jury will give them the support needed, but I take the risk and say this is going through. It’d be a pity if it didn’t. But I have good feeling about this. Borderline qualifiers 🇮🇪Ireland - This is probably the best song I’ve ever heard from Ireland since I know Eurovision. I loved it at first listen, and it’s so uplifting and positive, I really enjoy listening to it. The main reason I’m putting this among the borderline qualifiers is that the semifinal is really strong, and I think I need to see the rehearsals to clarify my thoughts. I mean this has it all to be in the final, but the competition is so tight and among all the entries I fear this one is not as sure as others. 🇧🇪Belgium - This is atmospheric, dark, enchanting. Geike’s voice is so much better live, which gives it an extra point. Juries will love them, the televote is a big mistery, it all depends on how appealing the performance is. 🇭🇷Croatia - One of the most modern entries from the country. I think it’s overall pretty good, but I have no clue if this will manage to come out in order to qualify. Again, such a strong semifinal. 🇮🇱Israel - Eden is the best thing if this entry. I like Set Me Free much more now after the revamp, and Eden probably does as well. Still, I think it doesn’t pack a punch like other entries, and it might fall slightly as a little bit generic. Again, I need to see the rehearsals. 🇳🇴Norway - TIX is an artist that definitely doesn’t go unnoticed. Fallen Angel is actually nice, but I don’t know if it’s gonna be enough to beat other countries with a much more memorable and less flamboyant song. I mean, it’s not a bad entry, I enjoy it, but from an objective point I don’t know how much both juries and televote will reward Norway. 🇦🇺Australia - I’m expecting the Technicolour staging to be so colorful and original, giving that art pop feeling Montaigne is know for. I don’t think it’s a disadvantage to perform with the live on tape as long as the performance is “good”, in the sense that it stays true to the song itself, but I have no clue on the actual chances of qualifying, which are in the hands of televoters from my pov. I need rehearsals rn🥺It’s so difficult! Non-qualifiers 🇸🇮Slovenia - Ana’s voice. I simply love it! One of the best vocalist of the year, unfortunately with a song that doesn’t manage to emerge among the rest. Juries will probably like it, but televoters won’t be their wingman. It’s such a pity, because Ana is fantastic. 🇲🇰North Macedonia - This song means so much for Vasil, and the performance will be very emotional and touching. Unfortunately, it doesn’t go anywhere, not even with Vasil’s extraordinary vocals.
