Most amazing to see a still picture from the contest, which I have never seen before, as well as never seen any other still picture, let alone video of any other entry besides the winning performance "Refrain". This picture is at 5:32, most-incredibly reveals that there were different setting-designs behind the songs, as it shows a painting of a hill, houses and a woman in a dress, as you can see. Up until today, as I always saw "Refrain"'s anchor, I assumed that the stage was just the same through the evening; or else didn't think about another possibility. Now I know that the trend of set designs replacement behind the songs didn't begin in 1957, but already in this very first contest. Also fantastic never-seen and very-rare images for me, of the singers. First time I see this videos and pictures of France and Belgium singers for example, Germany's Freddy Quinn going crazy on the piano, and with some other actually singing their Eurovision entries, even if in another show, yet still around the same period of 1956, which also jkeeps this whole video very authentic-fun to watch! I'v seen some videos of the singers and images from this 1956 contest before, but not as with much versatille videos and pictures as in here. Excellent job @schlagerfinalen, thank you very much. :-)

Also nice autentic job with taking the performances of both Italian singers from Sanremo festival, which was held about 2 months before Eurovision that year. I remember all performances from sanremo 1956 were once avialable to watch on the internet, but I think it doesn't exist anymore; also Italian broadcaster "RAI" restricts watching Sanremo archives only within Italy, and anyway I don't know if it has 1956 Sanremo in its archive. Hope to find it again some day.

The footage of ESC 1956 were always there, but how to make a mystery but hiding the track. I'm one of few who saw entire show (including voting) . I'm bless coz I have that privilege.
