Lenny Kuhr is a Dutch singer-songwriter.
In 1967 she started a singing career in the Netherlands, performing songs in the French chanson tradition. In 1969 she represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest with her own composition De Troubadour. She was one of the four winners that year.
In the early seventies Kuhr was more successful in France than in her home country. She topped the French charts in 1972 with the song Jesus Christo and performed in the shows of Georges Brassens.
In 1980 she had her biggest hit in the Netherlands: Visite, a song she performed together with the French group les Poppys. She has been releasing records ever since, though without major chart success.
1982 saw Kuhr host the Nationaal Songfestival, the Netherlands' national heat for Eurovision.
Lenny Kuhr converted to Judaism. She is married to Rob Frank and has two daughters from an earlier marriage, who live in Israel. For a while, she lived in Israel herself.

Ghijsch: Dit is een lied met een internationaal klinkende melodie, daarom zeer geschikt voor het Eurovisie songfestival,wat door haar overwinning ook is bevestigd. De tekst zal door ieder normaal begaafd en ontwikkeld mens goed begrepen zijn. Velen zullen er blijdschap en troost bij gevonden hebben;haar stem klinkt volwassen en persoonlijk. Goede en wijze keuze voor een Eurovisie songfestival. Een stukje Hollands Glorie uit het ESF verleden waar heel Nederland trots op kan zijn en blijven.

GRONINGEN - Dichter, schrijver en kunstenaar David Hartsema is overleden. De bekendste tekst van Hartsema is 'De Troubadour'. Lenny Kuhr won er in 1969 het Eurovisiesongfestival mee. De zangeres is aangedaan na het vernemen van het bericht dat hij is overleden. David Hartsema is 84 jaar geworden.

@09hahug Not really hahug...Dutch is a Germanic language and is close to German, like Danish is close to German as well. English is more of a Roman language as it has a lot of French/Roman words in it. Though, the Dutch and German often pretent that they dont understand eachother !

English is not considered a roman kanguage, but a germanic language. Dutch also has a lot of french loanwords due to the napoleontische war, but is nkt considered a roman language.

Everything is a mix of everything. If there is a language that is a pure mix of everything then it's English. This language has even borrowed a lot of Dutch words.
