If you think he didn't influence the results in his country then you're dead wrong. Netta got 1 vote from the televote in Portugal. One of her lowest scores in the televote compared to all other countries. He is an icon and he shouldn't have done that before the GF. He should have made his comments afterwards. Asaf Lubin Netta won because hype around her song. It WASN'T the best performance last night. And her singing wasn't as good as in the semi final. Top 5 - okey but winner? Nah. It wasn't that. I don't know why jury ignored Italy. They voted on a such neutral countries like Sweden and Austria. It was like "You don't want to vote for country that you don't like? Or you don't have Russia in the final? Vote for Sweden and Austria! It's good strategy!".

I like him very much. He is very authentic, different, honest even if the majority are against him. I may disagree with him about which music is the real music, because I believe it's subjective, but I agree that Eurovision forgot that it was all about the song and not the show and cheap entertainment. There seems to exist a serious misconception about what salvador said last year when he won Eurovision... he NEVER said anything about "hating pop". He did say that music should have content and meaning in order to be considered music, which i dont agree with because i believe music is very subjective to taste, but i respect his opinion. If what you heard him say was "all pop music is void of content" then thats your mistake. PS - About the israel controversy... i read a lot of dumb stuff here on these comments so: 1 - no he didnt say those things to try and make her lose 2 - no hes not jealous of her success 3 - no hes not an egomaniac who thinks hes better than anyone else People who say these things clearly have no idea who salvador actually is. He simply didnt like her song. And as always he was very honest about what he thought of it. People are not used to dealing with sincerety the way he is so they make up stupid explanations for why he did it. Do I think what he did was correct? Not really... but thats no reason to discredit his opinions on music

Francisco P He could have said that he doesn't like some Eurovision songs because he prefers more sentimental and introspective songs. To me that would allow him to convey his opinion perfectly while remaining more respectful, than saying that he wants to speak about music with 'true content' and 'meaning', implying that every other song in Eurovision has no content whatsoever. Also, when asked about the israeli song, and especially considering that the song was still in competition, he could have avoided saying that it is horrible, he could simply say that he doesn't like it. Regarding the 'out of tune' comment, if you notice he brings it up out of nowhere; they ask him about the portuguese song and he says that almost all eurovision singers last year were out of tune. Nobody asked him, so he could have avoided that. I don't mind people stating their opinion, I am just stating that some opinions are expressed in rude ways while others are presented in more respectful ways. Of course, some people might not find him rude at all, I personally find him rude and pretentious. I guess there is no objective and universally accepted standard of rudeness. I was never a huge fan of him but after watching a few interviews he seems like a genuine guy and im starting to really like him. He is such a genuine guy and he conveys so much emotion when he sings, not everybody can do that. I'm also really happy that his is in good health and i wish he'll always be! My only objection is that not all songs ought to be deep and meaningful. What about fun and dance and entertainment? It's like people saying that pop music has no place in eurovison.
