So I feel like this semi final really cements a few things: 1: The running order really doesn’t matter that much in the semi finals - maybe in terms of the amount of points people receive, but not when it comes to qualification. It really is down to execution and things such as slot 1, 2, and 3 all not being able to qualify is just a Eurovision myth (if you can call it that) 2: I also think Poland’s diaspora has been tested for real this time. It does have its limits and while Luna very well could have been 1 point from qualifying, it’s now been proven that Poland’s diaspora isn’t a free ticket to the final. 3: This has always been the case, but the odds aren’t always correct. I feel like you can easily make a strategy out of picking one or two non qualifiers in the odds, and put them through in your prediction. Especially in these all televote semi finals. On a personal note: I was just about to put Australia through in my final prediction, but went with Raiven instead since she’s my winner - yes my bias kicked in, but I predicted all the qualifiers correctly and I now know that I should follow my heart and not my head. 1. The running order matters a lot. I might be wrong but I think this is the first time EVER more acts qualified from the first than the second half. If the halfs were switched, we would easily have all 7 songs in the second half qualify. 3. The odds seem to be very correct. The odds doesn’t say what is definitely gonna happen, only how likely different events are. Based on the percentages the odds gave the different acts in this semi, we would only expect them to get around 8/10.

Slovenia made me SOBBBB Literally had me go into cardiac arrest but I am so glad they made it in! It makes me think though that Slovenia and Serbia were definitely borderlines since the borderline qualifiers were also called first last year. It also makes me think that Ireland possibly got into the top three (which I will be GLAD if it happens! CROWN THE WITCHHH xx)

I’m not sure why people keep talking about the diaspora effect. Yeah, they are influential, but they can’t help you if your performance is horrible. We’ve seen that plenty of times in the past. It happened a few times with Poland too.

The public picked right. All the good songs qualified, and the best performed okay songs (Luxembourg and Cyprus) qualified. If the same happens in SF2 we might get a really strong final. Not having juries sorta eliminates shock NQs, which I prefer. I don’t like having good songs be left behind.

I’m from Portugal, and was watching it live with a crowd, who was still celebrating Portugal going through… but when Petra called out Slovenia’s name, i roared like a bear and jumped out of my seat! Having said that, i still think Raven deserved better staging! ❤

Hard disagree, Alesia, about Jerry's voice. I love her huskiness and power, and I think it contrasts perfectly well with the softness of Alyona's. It also makes the last low note that much more profound. It shouldn't feel like a lullaby, because it's a song about female empowerment, and it needs a powerful voice to convey that.

Ukraine/Croatia/Ireland feels like an absolutely correct Top 3 for what we witnessed. And within 23 hours, they are the 3 most watched performances on YouTubE. Ireland and Croatia both have 2.1M views and Ukraine has 1.7M. 4th is Finland back at 1.0M

Im polish and delighted we didnt qualify. Maybe TVP will learn the lesson, or maybe not because they getting paid no matter what happens. Dont know if this was beneficial or detrimental to Lunas career 🤔 cause she wasnt known at all but now she is known but in a negative light. What can i say, pick talent next time. Maybe apologize to Justyna and invite her next year, if not, then do national selection and let us choose cause you dont have a clue TVP

Juries would’ve tanked Ireland and Finland but still they would’ve qualified. Cyprus would’ve been lost and probably Moldova in. The staging look good and vocally she sounded amazing. The issue: it was a song for juries, not televoting. Australia was messy vocally. Especially towards the end it was really bad. Not as bad as Olly’s vocal performance. It was so bad, so so bad.

Now that I finished the stream replay, I’m just so happy that the whole theory that more songs NEED to come from the second half has been disproven. Practically the entirety of the first half qualified as-is, minus Poland. Voters are a lot more conscious than we give them credit for. Also I find it so funny that people were worried about Bambie’s divisiveness after the staging was revealed. I wasn’t sure of Doomsday Blue either but the staging made all the difference. People need to remember that Hatari was able to come 10th despite being the only politically outspoken artists in their year and their song having a lot more screamo and BDSM. I don’t fear for Bambie at all; this will probably be a very smooth sail to the top 6. This song is far more accessible than Hatrid Mun Sigra so I don’t doubt it’s scoring higher than 10th place.

Im disappointed that Australia didn't make it, especially this year. They sent a song highlighting aboriginal culture, and people always scream about having more songs from the country of origin. Luxembourg didn't deserve to go through. The vocals were a bit dull for me.
