This is an old comment but I just wanted to say I find it so funny! Lithuania has always been a major underdog in Eurovision... Even with good songs, they would end up in last places. Then LT UNITED came and put it on the map! I love this song and wish it had come out in any other year than '06 when it was beaten by Lordi (rightly imo) because it would have been a worthy winner of any other ESC. I was really shocked that the audience didn't get the joke but that was their problem. In Britain we gave it ten points and if even we supposedly stuffy Brits can get it how come no one else did? A simple but clever lyric! They entered to have fun and to parody the whole event, not to actually win the contest! There was also a side-order of Andrius being Lithuania's most successful recording artist receiving Europe-wide publicity for his music, which worked in my case. I've since bought a number of albums and listened to a lot of his work, which is superb. The lyric is saying that the reason we are the winners is that "we are here to represent the truth", so you gotta vote for us. The truth being that they are real musicians creating real music, and will be remembered as such. Andrius received the exposure he deserves and continues to this day. As it's Eurovision day I'm pretty much just listening to Eurovision songs. Hearing about this song and seeing a clip was actually what got me into Eurovision and I've always thought these guys were legends regardless of what the audience thought. Not sure how they took it seriously as for me this sort of fun is just what the contest should be about.
