She was feeling well enough this week to fly to Kiev to support her daughters, so she was flown in to surprise the girls and she was present in the room during the performance. This song was dedicated to the very sick mother (she had a rare bone cancer) of these wonderful talented sisters to give her hope and not to give up on life. The song was written by their father. Their mother was present during the final show, but sadly she died some time later :-( A very personal and touching song.

I'm not sad about losing, portugal is great. just wanted to say that my country deserved a lot better than the 11th spot. You could really feel their emotions tonight and they made me tear up. Got goosebumps and let's not forget, what those three girls are doing is absolutely magical, so incredibly hard which makes them unbelievably talented. People should check out more videos of them, like their cover of 'Clown' and 'Emotions' and where they are echoing SING, by Ed Sheeran. Vanaf het moment dat jullie begonnen met zingen, zag je een heleboel emoties in jullie. Ik zag hoe jullie moesten vechten om er doorheen te knokken. ESC had a few global shifts for the better. The first one came in 2007, after the abysmal 2006 contest. It raised the bad just as much to have at least 10-15 good songs per year. The second upgrade came in 2012 with Loreen's victory and competitors such as Iceland, Azerbaijan and Spain. After 2013, at least half the participants brought their A-game and the number of awful songs never exceeded 5-6 examples per year. The Common Linnets cemented that status in 2014, with artistry culminating first in 2015 with gems like Monster Like Me, Grande Amore and Rhythm Inside and then in 2018 with a plethora of memorable and emotional songs. 2019 was a great and diverse year and while 2020 is a slight downfall from 2018, it still holds up pretty well on it's own. The contest now feels like ions away from the cheesefest it was in the mid 2000s.

I still have a list in my phone, it's a bit long but they have plenty to choose from haha: -Their performances on the voice of Holland, my faves: emotions, hold on, magic (their first single after they won) -Their album called 'we got this' +some hits that are not on there, my faves: Cold, wait a minute, wings to fly. -covers on a show called 'beste zangers' (best singers of Holland), my faves: Clown, Sing, ABBA medley. -covers from 'radio 538', my faves: want to want me, just give me a reason covers from a radio station called Qmusic, my faves: Jolene, Unbreak my heart, staying alive.
