back in the day i thought it was about some young love from old times he is missing... now i am older and i feel like i understand it differently. i feel like it's about dealing with your trauma as a mature person. your life seems perfect, you have a great family, yet your soul is still broken, has been for years. when you grew up in the world where human life could be taken away so easily, like many middle aged bosnians did, i think it stays with a person forever, no matter what. that's why he keeps trying to run from reality, from this broken soul inside of him. the happy songs are what we see on the outside, but for every two three songs, there are hundred of worries and hundred more reasons for them. that's what i feel from this song now, when i'm older.
