This is a real Slavic anthem. We Slavs live in different countries, and we all have different religious affiliations. We can be Catholic, Orthodox, Muslim. But there's something that we all share
@underelbow19024 жыл бұрын
A slavic soul never changes, which ever religion you believe in, whatever country you call home. It's just burned into our blood. That's why some many slavic folks (also the western civilization who find it so mythical and beautiful) can relate even tho much of the lyrics can't be understood by a non-Yugoslav.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION: Bistra Voda = Clear Water I asked some people in my place of origin Where is my soul living Because a secret for me They're saying you're hiding, my dear I asked them to give back That time, the days, the hours The spring When love smells good They say Give me birth On a morning in May Bath me In clear water I'm saving a flower When everybody else goes away I'm saving you As long as I'm alive Steal a little bit of sun for us You don't have tomorrow, you don't have today It's easy When a song finds your heart Give me birth On a morning in May Bath me In clear water I'm saving a flower When everybody else goes away I'm saving you As long as I'm alive Give me birth On a morning in May Bath me In clear water I'm saving a flower When everybody else goes away I'm saving you As long as I'm alive I'M NOT A PROFESSIONAL TRANSLATOR, SO MY TRANSLATION IS PROBABLY NOT THE MOST ACCURATE, BUT I HOPE IT'S STILL USEFUL.

I'm from Skopje, Macedonia (part of Ex Yugoslavia, same goes for Bosnia and Herzegovina) and that figure that they make in this particular shot reminds me of some WW2 Yugoslav partisan fighters statues that you can still find across the countries from Ex Yugoslavia, also there is a red flag that goes with it... and the lead singer during the performance is making poses similar to those statues when he's not singing. All in all very dramatical and theatrical stage presence, I like the fact that the lead singer never interacts with the camera during the performance.
@lutalice3 жыл бұрын
@@bumbar7 hej našiot! 😜 My parents are from Bitola 😊 I totally see the connection with the statues! It looks like it could be a painting like the kind that Bijelo Dugme used as album covers in the 80s 😁 I know it's not related but the aesthetic also reminds me of American colonial times (George Washington era). And it never occured to me how he never looks at the camera, and you're right, I think that would have taken away from the drama of the performance.

A beautiful and charming song. When it comes to Bosnian entries in Eurovision, a lot of people will mention Lejla--and for good reason! It's emotional, poetic, and has Zeljko's magic touch, as he composed the song. Bistra Voda may lack the emotional pull, but it doesn't mean I didn't get the chills from this song. The lyrics are also just as beautiful, with a mix of tenderness and nostalgia, and have just as much passion. One of my two favorites from 2009 (along with Et s'il fallait le faire), and the best Bosnian entry, in my opinion.
@EldaMengisto4 жыл бұрын
@Franz T Yeah, Davor really delivered it well! I just suggested that it may have a lack of emotional pull because in relation of Lejla, people may be a more ambiguous to it (despite being one of the best entries from the country). Doesn't mean people can't feel the song, though. Interesting take! Why do you think Dum Tek Tek was underrated? For me, fourth place wasn't that bad!

Heard this song for the first and the last time in 2009, my sisters made fun of me because I liked this song, I kept the name of the band and the song in my mind for over 6 years; that song means so much for me I can't explain. Btw rest in peace Denis Čabric
