For someone who doesn't know what's going on, here are a few more facts about "Lord of the Lost" who will soon be touring again in the UK with "Iron Maiden" like last time with great success and sold out stadiums. One of the biggest gothic glam metal bands from Germany and Europe! You are now representing Germany in Liverpool at the ESC, what an honor.

We had an international jury this year and one of the countries voting was Finland. Their jury was the only one giving Lotl 12 points, other juries gave their 12 points to Will, who had a very Michael Schulte like song. Lotl came fourth or fifth in jury votes but they absolutely destroyed the televote, which most of us Germans are very happy about 😂

Well, you can be happy about that, but you shouldn't be surprised about the last place if you outvote the INTERNATIONAL jury in advance. That was a failure by default.

The hall had limited possibilities and the stage design will certainly be revised. Most Germans know that this is not a winning song. The juries won't like it very much, but there is still hope that the public voting will save LOTL from the last place. I'm happy with the selection because Germany is starting to try more risk. That gives a bit hope for the future - because of the many bad places, the problem is also that hardly any good artists dare to apply for it.

Thanx for your very interesting reaction and your thoughts. Lord of the Lost: Dark rock meets goth meets glam metal meets synths including a perfect mixture of clean and harsh vocals down to growls. They are a rabbit hole with so many different styles and moods. They recently supported Iron Maiden across Europe and will do so this year again. So they they definitely know how to play a huge stage. They are great musicians and released beside their regular albums three acoustic „Swan Songs“ longplayer with a classic ensemble. Their newest album „Blood and Glitter“ was surprisingly released end of last year with only one week of preselling and hit #1 of the German album charts. The 70s/80s vibe was a stylistic choice. The entire album, Blood & Glitter, is like that. They're chameleons with each album having a different vibe. They don't need to reinvent the wheel, tbh. They sound great as it is. Regarding his screamo, he's got a really great technique. He'll be able to do this for decades without damaging his voice. He won't need honey. 😉 I love it. It's been my #1 this year since I first heard it a few weeks ago. It's actually in my top 10 Eurovision songs ever, & I started watching in the mid 1970s, when Brotherhood of Man won. (My Mum & Dad were always watching live music & one of Brotherhood were from my city. Someone mentioned she was in Eurovision so we watched it & I was hooked.) This is why I love Eurovision, it introduces me to music I'd never otherwise get the chance to hear. I've already bought a few of their albums, they've got over a decade's back catalogue, being an experienced band. You just know, with it being metal, that their live show will be great. They've already got an international following.

Updated opinion: all songs out, listened to them all and for some crazy reason I just don't understand, I absolutely love this and I'm swayed 100%, Germany get my 12 points this year. I've watched more of their videos, check out the orchestra show, they are so talented, story tellers, theatrical performers and creative artists. To do that vocal you have to train the voice classically to place it where no damage is done. That is such a skill, Chris Harmes can really sing, props to them for gaining a non goth/metal listener as a fan. Respect.

I totally agree that there is too much pop and less rock in this song. But you have to know that Germany/the NDR has a radio-criteria for their songs. It should be great to listen in the radio and that's why they didn't accept Electric Callboy's entry last year despite a lot of people thought it would have been a winner entry. I think Lord of the Lost found a great balance between a fresh entry and a conservative one. With more rock and metal they wouldn't have had a chance. It's so sad...

Well established group, existing following. I loved Lordy, voted for Måneskin and enjoy good rock. The staging & costumes are great, the lyrics work but a little lacking somehow. For some reason I feel they hold back the full performance & voice is a bit sweet against the death metal roar. Yes, 80's stylee and hope the live is ramped up. Forgot they go straight to final.

​@@sollte1239Surprisingly, Chris the singer was nervous. He'd spoken in interviews beforehand (as in weeks before) that he was apprehensive about starting the song acapella. He needs to understand he's talented, he's sung this song lots of times live to much acclaim, & he's loved by many of us. He can slay these vocals whilst sleeping because he's so talented.

Definately something to get us off the bottom of the leaderboard? You sure? Because the bookies aren't. They currently see us at 24th likely to win. Considering everthing below 26 is likely to be eliminated in the semi finals, that leaves us at bottom 3. I'm honestly very sad about this, because the reception seems to be quite good. Sure, not a winner and it's definately something your have an opinion about - positive or negative -, but I never thought this would be considered bottom 3 material. The reactions are pretty much all on the same page this is much better than the previous couple of years, yet I see us EXACTLY where I see us every year in the odds. Maybe I'm biased, because I voted for this, but I'm super super bummed. When I voted for them I said, at least we'll get points, even if it's just from Finnland and if we get last we'll go out with lots of pyro, but I didn't thnk this could actually be the case, thb.

bookies saw Michael Schulte I think at 21 before the contest, he made it to 4. We might not get that many votes from the juries (maybe from the northern ones) but I think they will do really well with the televote

If you look at other scoreboards, which Fans can interact with, we are actually at the 12. spot, which would be on the lefthand side. And even in fanrankings, we are by far not the last place, we usually come at 17-12 or even higher. I wouldn't just trust the odds, but also consider that lotl did really well in the televote. Let's hope the same thing happens at eurovision, because I also voted for them and would be happy if they did good 😂

Also keep in mind that the odds will change a lot after the rehearsals for the actual competition. Some acts will go up and some will go down based on the actual performance.
