I agree, but maybe because it was too dark, too real, too sad, too haunting, although the world has changed since 1989, which seems so long ago now. Interestingly, it came out just at the time that the Waleses' marriage collapsed, and that it did so on camera was a changing cultural event, that such a prominent collapsing marriage could no longer be hidden.

You're absolutely correct, never thought of that. It's at the same time as 'License to Kill' which would match the dark tone and 'I don't love you anymore' vibe as this film was also dark and marked Bond quitting HMSS in order to fulfill vendettas. Instead, the great Gladys Knight sang a forgettable remake of the Goldfinger theme. What could have been!

I have loved this song ever since I heard it in 1989. It is truly a masterpiece. It captures the end of a relationship in an exquisitely beautiful way and hits every emotion. Hard. Dave is brilliant with his musicianship and playing the role for the song. Annie….my god, Annie. That voice. No one comes close. She has to be one of the most stunning woman in the world (I say that as a straight woman). I am grateful for everyone that put their talent into this song. The raw emotions rip my heart open every time but heal it with the almost triumphant “I don’t love you anymore” repeated at the end of this song.

I've always thought this one to be their absolute very best, too. I'm glad I'm not alone in that assessment. It's such a masterfully done song, full of nuance and detail, and it really grabs so much. @E.F. R. I understand, far better than you might think E.F. R. I'm old(ish) too. It wasn't easy being a young gay boy in Texas in the Seventies. Years went by, and yes, I never dared to tell either... but looking back, I can see there were others close to me in the same boat. We passed like ships in the night, afraid to announce our presence to each other. Furthermore, for me love and lust are separate and distinct--though sometimes they overlap. You have plenty of time to find someone who loves you whom you love as well. May I suggest you start with a dog? They'll give you more love than any human ever will. Speaking of humans, the love of my life died in 2012, and even though we were together for 25 years, it was purely platonic. There is nothing pathetic about you or your life. You have many happy years ahead of you, now get out there and make them.

I was listening to Eurythmics while other kids listened to Madonna, they said I was weird ... I am still weird, and still listen to Eurythmics

Same here, and those other Kids who foolishly said that You were 'weird' have proven to Us that Their taste in Music was Woefully Immature (They were Kids, so what would They know about Great Music of Timeless Quality?) Thankfully, Your taste in Music was FAR MORE ADVANCED than the Music They were listening to, and it served You well because now You can spot 'The Real Thing' over the Mass-Produced Trash that's called 'Music' nowadays! You are fortunate to have such an 'Ear' for knowing when You can spot Real Music; the Young People born Today will sadly never know what Great Music truly sounds like. Here's a True Fact: If MTV* had still existed and continued to play Music Videos 24/7, then Millenials would probably have had some form of reference as to what Great Music both looked and sounded like, but the 'Powers-That-Be' in the Music Industry completely changed that by removing Music Videos and replacing them with 'Reality Shows' and Competition Shows which are cheaper to produce and, in doing so, take away the Royalties* (for those who don't know, it's Money that Music Artists would get whenever Their Music is played, by Law) that Music Artists would have been paid if Their Music Videos were still being seen by the World.

I know you will never see this Ms. Lennox but you have given me a great deal of enjoyment over the years through the music you make. Thank you.

Mondino doing is best Lynch, a drummer seriously enjoying himself, an ominous percussionist doing a Thanos with his woodblock... Oh, and Dave on guitar. And Miss Lennox looking and sounding more regal than ever. This is a perfect pop song, bless all involved!

Eurythmics are one of the best. Great lyrics. Their music combined so many elements and always worked. Their videos were and are still quality. Annie's voice...Not even enough words to describe how incredible. Eurythmics have so many wonderful songs, but this one just keeps getting better every time I hear it. They have a song for nearly every emotion and situation about love. That's why I love them so much.
