Had to use Ionity .65 pkwh Osprey was .73p. Used my Electroverse card on both. It worked well. Tesla was .35P Home .075p

I now use open to all Tesla chargers for away from home charging even going by a slightly different/longer route than I would normally.

Me too and the ones I have used are in good restaurant carparks. Handy for lunch and loos.
@Rufus2005f17 ай бұрын
@@ralpharmsby8040 sadly the only negative to the ones I've used has been the location, I've often used them in the evenings and there has been nothing around them, not even a toilet. Still rather use them though for the good rate

All I use now is the Tesla with a membership and it’s amazing. I can’t charge at home and Tesla supercharger is about 10 mile away but well worth the trip out!
@barryrathbone7 ай бұрын
What surprises me is the difference in price at the same chargers depending on which app you use. For example a local 150 kWh charger on the OVO app is 49p but the same charger on Electroverse is 85p!

Hi Dave can you please explain the £1 per minute overstay charge ie should I set my charge limit in my polestar to say 90% but make sure I am back at my car and stop the charge before I reach the set charge value
@davetakesiton7 ай бұрын
Hi Stephen, the over stay or idle fee is to stop people leaving their cars blocking a bay once they have finished charging, preventing anyone else from using it. Whatever level you set makes no difference, set what you like, but once the car has reached that level and stopped charging, you generally have 5 minutes to remove it before being fined. Most people if they are stopping for lunch would just set a really high 90-100% level to prevent the car from stopping charging and just leave when ready, whatever the SOC has reached. Or, if it stops and you're not ready to leave, just move it into the car park area to free up the bay and stay as long as you need.

A relative drives a Model 3, normally charges at home and uses the SC network when he’s away. He recently came to visit but needed a small charge, to get him to the nearest SC, (45mi away) for his trip home, (200+mi away). Noticing there was a rapid charger some 8mi away, he decided to go there on his way home. His family went into Costa where the charger was and instead of a quick charge, he decided just to leave it run while they had some cake & a coffee. But he was shocked by the 89p/kWh he’d been charged by Instavolt. He hadn’t bothered checking and said he’d learned his lesson. I don’t know what size battery his car has, so I don’t know what he paid but it wasn’t a bargain price.

What gets me is some 7kw destination chargers are 44-50p p/kw and this is peak supercharger rate.
@keithdenton83867 ай бұрын
If you are using one that charges £100. Just cover your number plate before you pull in to the car park. This mucks them up and as it private land it's not illegal. Or is it. who cares.

PodPoint at Lidl is 65p but only up to 50kW CCS eg evyve have 65p AC Charging at the Media City UK Multi-Storey, Broadway Salford
@paulweston11067 ай бұрын
I think it's locality based. The Lidl near me is £0.79/kWh. Aldi on the other hand have a free charger but only at 7.2kW.

As someone who’s long road trips is on the M6 and M5. I was hoping you would tell me if there ANY network other than Tesla on these motorways. Eg ionity is at Carlisle and Exeter! Probably further than most EV can reach.
@Orange_Manbaby7 ай бұрын
Ionity is also at Stafford on the M6 and West Brom near the M6, M5 junction. Gridserve have literally dozens of chargers on that route. Have you not looked at Zapmap??

Shame half the video was about tesla/supercharging network. For non tesla cars, the open to all network is non-existent & not worth the mention as they are so few. Promote them when there are a lot more of them & yes they will beat the price of all other networks.
