I was wondering how long it would take for someone to try this. Good Job!

On wikipedia's info theres the stuff about the 2x control ports If u send 1kz square wave at 12volts and change the duty cycle it tells the charging host the how flat u are if have problems Others change voltage Might help If you wire the drive off detector to a buzzer and to ur startmotor power setup u can stop drive off I'd also run charge port at position u always park and remove the lock clips on socket have it go deeper in sos the housing depth sports holding plug in and if you forget it just slips out and disconnects U also want use that feature to create a power relay to not have arcing at plug

I also saw the charging adapter with a 50 amp rating versus the one you listed for 20 A any benefit to that for you could you use the 50 A?

Just to reduce resistance to stop heat Bigger possibly have longer lifespan

Hey man love this set up, anyway to be able to use this system without a tesla battery? Instead maybe 4 lithium batteries. Especially for dry camping for long periods of time.
@all-timehigh73932 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, you need to buy a j1772 to NEMA adapter then plug in a 240v input inverter charger to your own batteries

I know you are probably not selling this vehicle, but im just wondering if you would be selling this vehicle with all the installations in it, for how much would you think the price would go?
@EcoNeato2 жыл бұрын
I am selling it for 35k, it runs great with no warning lights or codes, probably the cheapest price in the country. Brand new they go upwards of $200,000

@@EcoNeato too bad i live in europe, i also wanted to ask you, if you dont mind, are you selling this car because you are planning on building the other van, or are you quiting van life?

Good question, I'm selling it because I bought a Ford Transit that's already converted

Electricity at night? That is frack-gas friend. Cleaner than the gasoline tank, but it's still carbon. That is unless a nuclear reactor is powering the grid. (As it should)

Can we convert our nuclear weapons to nuclear energy?
@JimLockett3 жыл бұрын
@@EcoNeato maybe. Fuel would be over enriched, but I'm certain that could be rectified. Much better use for that fuel then what we have done in the past. Unfortunately, the only way the DARPA psychos will allow that is if they've created something even more frightening and disturbing. (Like weapons in space, placed under the guise of "protecting the planet from little green men")

It’s a neat idea. Many EVSEs are actually connected to one leg of 3-phase power, so you get 208v, rather than 240v. I wonder if that’s why you have trouble at some stations. You need to watch costs closely on these chargers. Many are subsidized, but others are the most expensive power you will ever encounter. Technically, your use of the EVSE for this purpose may get you a ticket, depending on signage, enforcement, etc, but using the EVSEs at unconventional times for EV drivers should further reduce an already low risk. If you tried to charge during times when EV drivers are likely to be wanting to charge, you would be much more likely to get challenged.

Maybe I need to have a 240-volt appliance active such as that 240-volt heater, so I'll try that the next time I can't get a charger to work.
@EcoNeato4 жыл бұрын
Do you think it also could be due to having the 12-volt house and 24-volt RV battery banks grounded to the chassis which is the same chassis the EV adapter is grounded to?
@PaDutchRunner4 жыл бұрын
I think he’s using a switching power supply, so that shouldn’t prevent the supply from being able to accept the current.

Love it - may have to add it to my 2009 jeep micro camper - especially now that actual jeep wrangler ev models are soon to be out there. I’ll have to locate the input connection in the same spot as those... 👍. Wonder if a standard victron 240->12v 30a charger would work without modifying the input side.
@PaDutchRunner4 жыл бұрын
Nope. Those victron units (the inverter chargers and the transformers) are designed for single pole 220.
