Personally I got two of the Everse 8 , smaller , easier to move plus I link both Everse either with an xlr or my xvive and you get more loud clarity for ceremony with the mic. Then after the ceremony I use one for my monitor , practical and great speaker.

With the everse 8 you can power two mics (Sennheiser EWDX dual mic/ expensive option) (Shure Slxd dual mic/ my option and cheaper). I use that (2 lavs) and an aux cord for ceremonies (don’t trust Bluetooth). I like the technology behind the wave 8 but can’t get over the size and ugliness. Great review Nick! Thank you!

You can also use the usb c out on the wave 8 to power a microphone receiver. I have an Alto TS08 with a battery pack for a wireless ceremony speaker currently, it has the usb out as well and I use that to power a wireless mic receiver. With a small battery pack velcro'd on the speaker I get about 4 hours cranking. May have to look into upgrading to the Wave 8 this summer.

Great review as usual Nick! To be honest, I'm still happy with having Everse vs the Alpha-Theta. I use 2-3 mics at times and can still make it work with the EV. The worst part of the ceremony setup is carrying the tripod. It is absolutely clutch. Now that said, I would be interested in the A-T for satellites if I didn't already have a really nice wireless sending option. Alto Stealth Pro receivers are amazing, and you can power them from the 12v connection on the EV. It still remains truly wireless and the setup is simple. All in all, I would still go with the EV since it handles everything I need to do, without having to haul anything that won't fit in a small backpack.

@Nick saw your ceremony setup video (thanks for that, think is the first and only video showing them in the wild) Have you found ANY issue with the wireless at all? I've been going back and forth between these two (everse8 and Wave8). I've been using the Mackie ThumpGo 8 strictly for PA/Ceremony and for remote outdoor Cocktail hour. Being in Miami, they love outdoor events, and of course it never rains, except whenever I have to have a speaker setup outside smh..hehehe.... Love the fact that these are IPxx rated, and seem to be protected even with an XLR connected, unlike the Everse who seems water protected only on Bluetooth

Here's the thing. Everse 8 has digital mixer included, its smaller, its got a good battery, and it powers a mic receiver. Wave Eight, it is heavier, a little bigger, slightly less loud, BRAND NEW WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY, and still rocking. If you already have Everse 8, I wouldn't sell yours for a Wave Eight unless you're a trendy on top of technology type. If you have been debating on an Everse 8, this is where I can see a potential option to get the Wave Eight. I especially think the technology for the wireless transmitting is going to become a really big deal in the near future. You won't go wrong with either choice based on what I saw. Thanks for the videos Nick, appreciate having something to feed my hyperfixation with DJing 😅

Hey Nick, Great review!!! With the rundown on your Ceremony setup that you described, does that mean you pretty much ALWAYS need power at the site? I often do Ceremonies out in the middle of nowhere and everything needs to be running on battery. Yeah but it’s in the same price range and for DJs (not wedding) who search for a good speaker for outdoor raves which is more than just loud and chunky (soundboks) it’s interesting to compare. I mean the alpha theta possibility to link three boxes and use just one as an subwoofer (via app software frequency steering) is unique in the Batterie PA market (since now) and could be compared to a stereo Everse 12 set.
