This system is all about WEIGHT, if you need more volume than the EV50 is the way to go:
EV 50M bass bin is 45Lbs/EV 30M is 35 lbs Ten pound difference felt very different in the hand. EV 50 column is also 10 Lbs/ EV 30 column is 6 Lbs
Total weight: EV50 58Lbs/EV30 44Lbs 14 pound difference
EV ELX200-12SP subwoofer is 42 Lbs which is very light for the performance you get, 129dB! To get 130dB+ performance you have to go to the 100+ Lbs subs:(
Next step up is my Bose Sub2 at 52 Lbs and physically much larger to handle.
Everse 8 18Lbs
Subwoofer-ELX-200 12SP
EV QuickSmart Mobile application: quickly and wirelessly configure, control and monitor up to six ELX200 loudspeakers simultaneously
QuickSmartDSP features best-in-class processing
High-efficiency 1200 W Class-D power amplifier delivers up to 129 dB peak SPL utilizing ultra efficient, high-sensitivity transducer designed and engineered by EV
Ideal for portable and installed applications
Professional-grade hardware: integrated M20 threaded pole mount plate and two-handle design for easy lifting

I have the same exact system without the Everse 8 it rocks , so used it for 25-30 gigs and an outdoor event with over 300 people plenty loud and super portable and the app is fantastic!

User comment: The 30m's stick is also much easier to move because it breaks down into three pieces--carying that in the backpack is child's play compared to the one long support stick + larger driver array of the 50/50m. That being said, though I'm very happy with my 30m, if I lived on the ground floor in my garden apartment walkup I'd probably have gotten the 50m by now. It does seem just a touch fuller, aside from the available volume and throw. My main local hangout has two 50s as a house system and for that venue you can't beat it. But I get complimented on my 30m all the time.

User comment- Just got the Everse 8 -- I liked the demo of the setup between the Evolve 30m and the Everse 8 as a monitor. I use the 30m. for hosting open mics and some gigs, the Everse 8 is the perfect companion. And for folks just looking, the EV family is just way too good....the shaping, profiles, dispersion and pure clarity are amazing (no, I do not work for EV).

External battery-Whole system together pulled only 300 watts at max clipping/limit light volume! I use the 600 watt Ecoflow Pro because I also have a Bose Sub1 that pulls more watts at max.

Hey Bill! I normally use the 30m as my main solo setup for small venues. For covering a small to medium sized venue, I'm considering adding to the setup, a battery powered top with the elx200 12sp. Have you tried that sub with a thump GO? Since you can buy 2 mackies for 1 everse 8 I think you can get more volume and better spread in a double pole mount. Still, 1 everse 8 I know can be a great addition nonetheless. Since I'll feed that second one with the 30m, effects are not a sale point for me in the top, but with the everse all the family would benefit from app control and there is slightly less things to carry around.

Yes I have a pair of Thump Go's. Price is down to $320 on Amazon! I thought I got a good deal at $380:( Yes, I've paired the Thump Go with the ELX 12 sub and it is an excellent pairing! Everse 8 has better bass but if you're pairing with a sub that becomes useless. Check out this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2TMd4ppZaateNk

If the Everse 8 is not enough volume than my next step up is my QSC K8.2, still light at 27 lbs but much more headroom than the Everse. Of course difference is, it does not have internal battery.

I agree great app. You been using the DBR10 any?
@WWeiss-nv5vz
@WWeiss-nv5vz 6 ай бұрын
Happy New Year JH! I pair the DBR10 anytime I use RCF, JBL, Turbosound, or QSC. Basically anytime I need a fill speaker that adds that full/smooth Yamaha mid range missing from all of those. Unfortunately since it isn't Battery operated, no reverb, without Bluetooth, I usually use the EV Everse 8 for my Jack of all Trades portable speaker.

W.....sorry, but 'according to EV, spec listings', the weight difference between the 50 sub and elx200-12sp sub is only 3.36 lbs...and the 50 is smaller than the elx200. The 129 dB spl is nice, along with adjustable freq.

I just bought an Evolve 30M for my solo gigs. I also do the odd bit of DJing and wanted to add something to the equipment list that’ll allow for ease of transport/setup but provide enough punch to get the dance floor going. I own a Bose S1 pro that I’d been using as a fold back so I thought about maybe buying a sub1 and pairing them for dj gigs. I guess my question is would that have more punch than the 30m? I also own a qsc k12.2 and have considered buying the ks112 but it starts getting clunky lugging the qsc gear around, plus I can’t connect Bluetooth through that setup unlike the bose. What would you do?
@WWeiss-nv5vz
@WWeiss-nv5vz 3 ай бұрын
Yes, adding an S1Pro and Sub1 would definitely add some mids and low end punch to the 30M. If I had my choice I would go with an EV Everse 8 over the EV ELX12-SP sub. Everse8 has more volume than S1Pro and the EV sub hits harder than Sub1. All EV speakers running off a single App.kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4e0YmlqmJd8fpY

Tell me about the output and low end of the Everse 8 with ELX200-12SP sub, compared to the Evolve 50?
@WWeiss-nv5vz
@WWeiss-nv5vz 2 ай бұрын
EV50 will be 2x louder! ELX 200 sub will have noticeably stronger output that maxes out at 129dB. EV 50 sub section is 500 watts/ ELX200 1,200 watts! I have not found a column array bass performance that beats a good stand alone 12" subwoofer.

Just wondering about the sub. The ELX200 is about $800... Behringer makes the EuroLive 12 for less than half. Have you done any tests comparing the 2 subs? Do you have any experience with the EuroLive 12?
@WWeiss-nv5vz
@WWeiss-nv5vz 6 ай бұрын
Eurolive is a great deal at that price! It is usually recommended for beginners. It is loud and thumps good, but it doesn't have the clarity of the EV 12 or the Bose Sub1.Some might call it muddy/one note. EV also has an excellent App that I personally use and love! You can save settings/scenes and has a Club Mode that noticeably boosts the output. In this case I would follow the old saying, "You get what you pay for!"

@bobbauer5933 6 ай бұрын
Thanks. Clarity is a big deal so I'd rather spend the $$$. Comparing the EV12 to the Bose Sub 1. I like the Sub1 weighing at least 5 lbs less than the EV but I do like the 12" speaker over the Bose Racetracks. Do you prefer one Over the other. (Bose sub 1vs EV12.@@WWeiss-nv5vz

EV has more output, 129db vs 123dB. 6 dB difference is noticeable! I have gotten the Sub1 to bottom out, never on the EV. EV has a great Bluetooth App. I especially like the fact I can dial the sub gain up or down from a distance. Besides the weight advantage the Sub1 laid on its side has a very nice low profile that could be slid under a low table. I would go with the Sub1 if you are running S1Pro tops because the Sub1 has matching x-over settings for the S1 Pro.@@bobbauer5933
