Nice review, but considering, that through the DSP (menu) you can change the playback mode in the QSC LIVE,DANCE etc...so it would definitely sound much nicer, or crisper. Plus live itd definitely different.

Some other amps will give same or better features for lower price but the quality of the sound it's just not it. This amp has sound quality guaranteed. If anyone is worried on how loud this amp can be, just get the whole combo of the 2 PA Systems and the 2 Subwoofers that connect wireless and that itslef is said to cover a range for more than 150 people. You can even connect 4 musicians wireless simultaneosly, including bass and percussion. I think the fact that all that can be wireless is crazy.

Heyy! Thanks a ton for this video! Really helpful. But among these 3, using AUX input, which do you think has the best low end? I want to use it for DJing (mainly disco/house/techno) outdoors for lets say ~20-30 people. The only real deal breaker is that it needs to be battery powered cos not always you find a power source outdoors.

Thanks for the video, excellent work Bill! I currently have two Bose S1s and one Bose Sub 1 and use this setup for playing backing tracks when I do solo gigs. I’m also DJ-ing at a wedding next year and thought I could just add another Bose Sub1 to my setup. There’s going to be about 100 people in a medium sized venue. Good idea or bad?

Do U think 2x308 + Bose Sub1 will do some small outdoor event with the synths ? I am looking for some not heavy and expensive solution for small synth gig we do with the friend. The lowend feeling is the most important as dispersion too - what do U think about dispersion jbl vs yamaha and rcf ? Thanx

Distance makes big difference. I used S1 Pro outside, but once you get 100 ft away you lose the volume. I finally had to buy the line array with subwoofer to reach that distance. I also realized then that the S1 didn't do justice to the bass.

Been watching your videos on live speakers for a while Will, invaluable stuff, no fancy studio backdrops, just honest in-depth empirical analysis of gear, they’re really very helpful thanks! I’d like to ask you a few questions on the Alto if I may: 1) Small size and low weight are the main factors that push me towards the Alto. Concerning its lack of low end, and considering as you also pointed out that it’s strange since it has a 6,5” woofer while the Bose has a 6”, could one get it any better by boosting the lows with the EQ on the Alto app? Or will the original factory tuning prevent any minor low end improvement? Not expecting any subwoofer performance of course, but maybe something closer to the Bose S1 low end could be achievable? 2) Main use will be live keyboard playing over stereo pop/orchestral tracks all coming from a laptop’s headphone out so the AUX input sounds like my best choice I guess. It is not unheard of AUX inputs having latency in some speakers, do you happen to know if the Alto’s AUX input has latency? 3) I’ve read of many issues with the Alto’s app repeatedly losing bluetooth connection to smartphones, have you had any experience with that? Thanks for your help Will, keep the videos coming!

The volume knob on the eon compact with the green LED are STUPID and the press 3 second hold to turn on and off is ridiculous. No kill switch if you’re feeding back for some reason. Alto is out because it doesn't have the warranty of the other two and doesn't have the build quality reputation of the other two. QSC or Yamaha neck and neck! Comes down to sound signature preferred. QSC has more high end clarity. Clarity is better for outdoors, guitar, and vocals. Yamaha better midrange/ low end which will make keyboards more full range. I say QSC CP 8!

Whilst watching your many reviews on micro setups, i got hooked and got an EV everse 8 last yr and recently an EV everse 12. I am looking at a powered sub to pair with them. EV elx200-12sp which you've demo'ed or QSC KS212C which i am yet to see you demo in a micro setup. Any thoughts of which of the two subs and why?
@WWeiss-nv5vz

Glad I helped with your Everse 8 purchase! How much louder and better bass response is the Everse 12 in comparison? I don't have the KS112. I have the previous model, dual 12" KSub and it is incredible! At $2,000, 88 lbs and 132 dB the QSC KS112 is in the next level from the EV 12sp sub. Have you considered the Bose Sub2, which is a step up from the EV 12sp? EV also makes the ELX 200-18 64lbs, also 132dB! I love the App on the EV subs. A lot of great choices! If you need more advice, let me know your application and max price range.
