You would have had more reliable charging with the DC 24kW charger on 3-phase and got better charge rate than the Tritium units. The other thing it could have been your battery wasn't conditioned perhaps prior to arrival, you would need Car Scanner perhaps to see. The battery is 160kWh is my understanding on these sites. Remember this site at Nullarbor Roadhouse won't be free forever, may even be at the payment stage by now unsure how long NRMA will have it free for before start paying once people pay then numbers will drop as with all chargers when they go from free to payment required, no charger should be free beyond perhaps a testing period of maybe a week or two. You said 15V when you were at the campground in Penong assume you meant 15A?

Hey TassieEV - hope you are enjoying your new Kona! Yes, it’s going to be interesting to see how it performs and also costs when I visit again in four weeks time. I agree we should be paying by now. It is nice to have that three phase option round the back just in case. Yes sorry I would have meant 15 amp at the caravan park, which gives me just over 3kw and what I need to top the battery up overnight. Thanks heaps for watching!

What do you do if you get stuck in the middle of nowhere and you run out of battery, Stan? Gosh, cutting it fine with 17% and 80km left in the tank. That pizza looked amazing though. Just reward for so long driving. Take care out there, my friend. 🙂 Pat that Twiggy dog for me. ♥

Good question! Push the magic button on the roof next to the rear vision and a tow truck should magically appear - lol. Seriously though there is always roadside assist. You can run out of petrol too, but I guess in that case you could go get a jerry can. One of my favourite KZbinrs - Bjorn in Norway - purposefully runs cars down to zero and then sometimes uses a couple of big EcoFlow type portable batteries. Basically the idea is not to run of battery, and worst case just pull in somewhere with just a normal plug you can use like a campground or roadhouse etc Thanks heaps for watching and Twig says hi 👋
