No doubt about that, I put this micro system together for family gatherings and to lug to friends houses. It's perfect for that.

That's why I'm watching speaker vids lol I don't like taking wedding gear or expensive speakers over to friends houses for a bonfire or something so trying to create a small portable system just for that. I'm leaning towards something like Alto TS408's over Bose Sub 2s. ( I already have a TS408 I use for a ceremony speaker so know they're more than capable volume wise)

I'm impressed and I honestly didn't think I would be. I've never taken 12" subs very seriously that sounds good.

I don't know how EV did it, but this little sub sounds incredible good. I shot this video mid afternoon on a Thursday so I couldn't really crank it. But once you really open it up it's really something special
@2332gregor5 ай бұрын
Yes, I agree. I was really surprised the first time I heard it. All the reviews didn't lie. Considering it looks so small it packs a punch. I've heard 15's from other brands that do not hit as hard.

Awesome. Even the bushes are waving with joy! I've had Everse 8s (pair) for a couple years and love them. But when I read from others that I would greatly enhance my sound with this sub, I ordered one...coming any day now. Our surround sub in the house was unplugged and when I plugged it back in, I could not believe what I was missing. Same in live sound.....thx for sharing. so cool.

Thank's for the support! You will not be disappointed with this sub. I laughed when I pulled it out of the box. It looked like a toy, but once you get it going. Wow!

@2332gregor thanks again. I'm a solo, small gig guy and the 8s were always more than enough. But, even with years of experience, I'm finally getting around to a sub. I always assumed they were for thumper, until I finally wised up.
@2332gregor5 ай бұрын
No problem, I always enjoy music with a sub. It just adds another layer of depth to the sound. At least for 90 percent of the music I play and listen to. But if your using 8 in tops than this 12 in sub is going to be your secret weapon lol. I considered getting 2 but quickly realized that 1 was more than enough for me.

Nice sound crisp and clear bad thing is when you conect the pa to a mixer and plug in to a guitar and keyboard and mic 🎤 at high volumes you know you need more power i own a 18 sp sub ev and 2 10's ev too.

In this case you would need to buy and amp to power that passive sub. My recommendation would be to return it and get yourself the powered version.

@@2332gregorso what is your honest opinion of this sub. I have a guy in town willing to sell it to me used but in good condition for $400
@teckno_senpaiАй бұрын
hello sir, thank you so much for doing these real world sound tests. I purchased the EXACT setup and they are on their way. I have a novice question: how do you connect/daisy chain these? I have a 4 channel DJ mixer XLR master L/R OUT that is ready to be plugged into the two G2 8's and one ELX200 12 sub. I have no experience connecting to these professional PA speaker setup and would love your guidance. In which order would be best to connect my devices for the best sound?
@2332gregorАй бұрын
Glad to help, you won't be disappointed with these little speakers and sub. Great combination that puts out big sound. I run from my controller out XLR straight to the input on the sub, then from the output of the sub run that straight to your tops. So controller=sub=tops. Actually very simple. Hope I was able to help.
@teckno_senpaiАй бұрын
@@2332gregor thanks a lot for your prompt response! so just to confirm--- the ELX200 12SP sub has input 1 and 2. does that mean input 1 is the left channel and 2 is the right channel? so from my mixer(controller) master L/R out to input 1 & 2 of the sub. and then sub out 1 and 2 respectively to the G2 8's on the left side and right side?
@2332gregorАй бұрын
That is correct, it's pretty straightforward. Let me know how you like the sound. I love mine. Use them mainly for small back yard party's

Hello. I commented on your video with the Evolve 30m and this sub. I was also thinking of getting a pair of ZLX G2 8 tops to use with my 12sp subs. Do you think a pair of these would be better suited to use a pair of 12sp subs or the Evolve 30m?
@2332gregorАй бұрын
I would definitely get the G2 8's Only because the evolves already have a sub built in. I enjoy the more balanced sound from the two 8 in tops and this sub over the evolves and the subs. The evolves sound better on their own. That's just the way they where designed. But these tops where meant to be used stand alone or with subs
@LH-fh5knАй бұрын
@ I like the ease of setup and teardown of the Evolve 30m instead of hoisting speakers on a tripod. But these are 8 inch tops so the weight shouldn’t be a problem. I would still take at least one sub for events less than 100 because I’m not sure the 8 inch tops would have sufficient mid or low bass. Do these have the presets for the 12sp sub? I also have one EKX 15sp sub. Does it have a preset for this sub as well?

Thanks for the support! I set the sub @ 100Hz and the tops have a pre set for that particular sub, so I used that. It was morning so I could not really crank it too much. But those 8 in tops can get pretty loud.
