No problem Cody, glad it was helpful. That video covers the bare bones, there’s tons of other tips and details within all the build videos on the channel - hope there’s a lot of helpful stuff in there for you!

Great video! Very informative. I wish I'd seen it before I started my last project lol...would have saved me some grief. ;) Please make more videos like this! I would love to see one on EVA foam painting basics!

Hey Jen! Yes, the battle cry “INTO THE CORNER!” It has saved many-a-foam tip. Glad the videos are helping people. I don’t have a video that is specifically on painting but the last episode of every build shows all the details of the paint process. I’m totally no expert - and sort of primitive in my painting skills but everything seems to be turning out pretty cool? Under VIDEOS near the upper left of the channel’s home page has a complete list of builds - lots of painting shown in the last episode of each build. kzbin.info Thanks for watching!

Thank you for this! The only video that actually helped me fix my ugly cuts on 1 inch Eva foam. How do you smooth fuzzy bits from sanding? Heating only hardened the fuzzy bit...
@BlackSheepProps5 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Glad it helped! Smoothing fuzzies usually works after I use different grits of sandpaper. When I have to sand my foam I start with 80 grit, then I use 220 and then I finish with 320. After that it is usually pretty smooth and no fuzzies - then I hit it good with the heat gun and the foam gets really tight, shiny and smooth. Most of our builds on the channel show that process, and you might get additional help from some of the tips videos there too. Here’s the link in case you don’t have it : kzbin.info

What thickness of Eva foam should I use for a big round helmet? Very helpful thanks for the tips! 👍
@BlackSheepProps Жыл бұрын
Hey! For the bulk of it probably 12MM (1/2 inch). Check out some of my helmet builds on my channel.

May I ask where you get your EVA foam. I've been using foam workout floor tiles, but I don't like that it always has a grippy texture on one side.
@BlackSheepProps4 жыл бұрын
Hi Eric! Totally! I started out using the same foam - floor tiles from my local Lowes. I learned about a place in Texas called TNTCOSPLAYSUPPLY - they have EVERYTHING! From 2MM all the way up to 48MM pieces! And all of it is smooth on both sides. THE BEST! They also have foam dowels in various thicknesses. I buy ALL of my foam from them. Thanks for watching Eric! In case you haven’t seen our other tips videos and builds here is the link to our channel’s home page in case you’d like to check them out : kzbin.info Just check under VIDEOS near the upper left for a complete list.

Does eva foam come in deep black & true red?
@BlackSheepProps2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sukhi! At the beginning I used to use the grey foam floor mats but once I got into it I bought all my foam from TNTCOSPLAYSUPPLY in Texas and I buy all black foam. They also sell white. You can buy really thin sheets (2MM, 3MM) in many colors at some art supply stores like Michaels.

I want to know how to efficiently cut floormat foam for a large weapon
@BlackSheepProps Жыл бұрын
Hi Rico, The only thing I cut with is an xacto knife, a box cutter, my bandsaw and a scroll saw.

Wish he linked the cutter and sharpener he used
@BlackSheepProps4 жыл бұрын
Hi Rin! The box cutter is made by OLFA. They have several different knifes to choose from. And the sharpener is made by KERSHAW. Both are readily available online. Hope that helps.
