Awesome video! Question, where can you get aluminium rods and are there any alternatives to these rods?

Thank you! You can find aluminum rod at craft stores, I bought on the internet. As an alternative you can use wire, if you use it, I recommend twisting the wire until it's tight and use the same way that I used the rod :)

your best bet is like charity shops for old/new golf clubs you'll get them super cheap and its a good source of either aluminium or graphite rods depending on which ones you get and all you need is a hacksaw or grinder to take the club face off

You can get aluminum rods or steel rods at Menards for a few bucks, different lengths and thicknesses. Aluminum is more wobbly but a bit lighter and easier to bend. Steel is hard to bend/shape but much more stable. I ended up using a steel rod for mine because of how thin this particular sword is, and I only had to give it a slight bend for the katana shape. Also, for straight swords you can use wooden dowels from craft stores, or carbon fiber rods (only a few bucks at Fleet Farm) but if you need to cut one shorter do some research because they can splinter if not cut properly.

Thank you! it's an acrylic plaster. it's a plaster used for handicrafts instead of wall finish. I bought at a art supplies store.

How long does aluminum rod need to be?

The rod I used have 70cm, I don't recommend to use a smaller one. If you use my patterns you can use a maximum of 90cm rod.
