@ocelotl74162 жыл бұрын
“We have influences from all over the world that makes up a cuisine with a national identity.” Just like every country in the world but Mexican food is mostly native based. Natives from all over the Americas influenced the world more with it’s food than vice versa. What would Italian food be without the tomato coming out of Mexico? What would the Irish be without the potatoes coming out of Peru? What would a American thanksgiving meal be without native ingredients? Gravy and pie would be the only things left on the table (even then the pie originated from ancient Egypt). I could go on and on.
@tonyminutti52772 жыл бұрын
@@ocelotl7416 you’re talking about ingredients not foods! Chocolate comes from Mexico but the Swiss and Belgians have perfected it! And? Most Mexican cuisine actually comes from various influences that came to Mexico. Of course w corn as the base for central and southern dishes (since wheat is king in the north) the food we see today as “Mexican” is a syncretism from colonial times since we use pork, cow, chicken, lamb and many other ingredients that came from Europe and Asia. I could come up with the same argument if it weren’t for that world trade we wouldn’t have cheese, crema, mangos, rice, pastas, meats, and various cooking styles and techniques (Mexican sweet breads are Viennese and French for example a remnant of the Second Mexican Empire and further French immigration to Mexico). So no…Mexican cuisine is not “native”. Obviously there’s big influences especially the further south you go. We can’t generalize!
@ocelotl74162 жыл бұрын
@@tonyminutti5277 “The Swiss and Belgians have perfected it.” Not really since I have never ever seen or even heard of their chocolate brands. Since the pre-Columbian era, corn, squash, chile peppers, and beans have formed the base of the Mexican diet. Like I said... Mexican food is mostly native based. Pigs, cows, chickens, pasta, cream, cheese, etc, etc... originated from Asia, the same place that the ancestors of Mexico came from. Nice try though.

@@martasuyapacruz184 pero una quesadilla prehispánica sería un taco jajaja. sería como decir que un pan ácimo (o pita) es una pizza milenaria sin queso, osea no es una pizza 🤣.
